I know this is really late, but I just didn’t have enough time to go through volume 105 of Megami Magazine until now.
This issue features the main character from Sora Wo Kakeru Shoujo on the cover. I watched the first episode of this anime and it just seemed a bit too weird for me.
I finally received my copy of Megami Magazine Volume 104 on Friday. Unfortunately, it didn’t arrive in very good condition. The packaging was ripped and the magazine itself had bends and folds all over. Not to mention that it was frozen stiff from being out in -30C weather. I guess the post office had so many packages to deliver this past month because of christmas that they were less concerned about damaging stuff.
I finally got around to watching episode 9 of Toradora.
This episode involved some funny events and even funnier reactions. It starts off with Taiga and Ryuji having a little badminton match to decide who should support the other first in their plan to get Kitamura to like Taiga and Minori to like Ryuji during their summer vacation trip to Ami’s place by the sea. During the match, Taiga gets “attacked” by a dog and forfeits.

After waiting a month for my copy of Megami Magazine volume 103, I thought it would never arrive. Luckily, I was proven wrong and I finally received it a few days ago. A quick look at the package explains why it took so long to get here:
It looks like the CBSA decided to do a random inspection of my package to look for any illegal material. It’s good to know that those guys are doing their jobs and keeping bad things out of the country, but I wish it didn’t delay delivery by so much.

After two weeks of waiting, my copy of Megami Magazine volume 102 arrived in the mail this morning. When I opened the packaging, I was surprised to find that not only did it not get damaged during shipping, but it also came with a copy of Megami Creators (a separate magazine by the same people, featuring artwork from various artists).
When I opened the bundle, two things also fell out: a JAST USA catalog, and a JAST trading card, lots of goodies this time :) (more…)
The first episode of Toradora aired this week, and I have to say it was pretty good. The plot revolves around a high school student named Ryuji, who just happens to have a really scary face. Because Ryuji’s face is so scary-looking, everyone’s intimidated by him, and these two guys even offer him their wallets for bumping into him (I wish random people gave me their wallets). Of course, Ryuji’s actually a pretty nice guy and they show this in the anime when he takes the wallets he got to the lost and found. (more…)
I finally got my copy of Megami Magazine Volume 101 earlier this week. The packaging has “Do Not Bend” in big black letters so someone tried to bend it in half; I really hate people like that. One thing about Megami Magazine is that they have what look like fan-made manga inserted between some pages that only stick out halfway from the spine. So when the magazine was bent, all of the regular pages ended up getting these little folds where the manga pages ended. Fortunately the folds weren’t too deep so I was able to straighten out the poster pages. Well, that’s enough rambling about the postal service. To tell you the truth, I got this figure because of the cat. Wanting to buy this figure was also the reason I bought all the other figures that I got last week. One item in the shopping cart just lead to the next and before I knew it I had ordered six figures. That just goes to show how persuasive a cat can be…
Before getting this figure, I didn’t know anything about Tora Dora, which is the manga that Taiga Aisaka is from. I read the first volume a few days ago though, and it has some potential. Will be looking forward to the anime version that will be airing this fall.
