Megami Magazine Vol. 115

Sorry, everyone, for the lack of posts recently. Life has been really busy so I haven’t been able to write much or reply to comments for the past two weeks. Now that I have a break though, I can finally get back to making some regular posts. I still have several magazines that I haven’t gone through, but I’ll get to them eventually. Today I’m going to take a look at Megami Magazine Vol. 115. Although Christmas is long over, there’s still plenty of snow on the ground, so this issue of Megami Magazine doesn’t feel out of season yet.

This poster was a bit shocking, but I guess bigger is better, right? I can see why Kouta has such a hard time resisting Chizuru’s advances in Kanokon.

I guess there’s more Queen’s Blade anime coming. Never really got into the story though.

I remember watching parts of the first season of Koihime Musou, but I don’t remember seeing the girl on the left. Is she a new character?

It should come as no surprise that none of the skirts worn in Megami Magazine are long enough to cover a girls panties.

There’s quite a few swimsuit posters in here, which is weird considering it’s the December 2009 issue. I’m not complaining though, especially if there are more Seitokai no Ichizon posters ^.^

I finally got around to watching the first episode of Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu Purezza a couple weeks ago. It looks like there’s some more characters and even more risqué scenes than the first season.

I can’t say I disapprove of Yuri when I get nice posters like this one.

It looks like Yui is going to be late for school again. Congrats to her for placing second in the 2009 Anime Saimoe Tournament though.

I would be stunned if I saw two naked girls falling out of the sky like this. I wonder how Ikaros is keeping her tea in that cup.

The female members of the SOS-dan look ready for winter, except for the fact that they’re still wearing skirts. I’ve always wondered if Japanese schoolgirls still wear skirts when it’s freezing outside. Has anyone been to Japan in the winter and seen this?

Stripped pantsu seems to be gaining popularity in recent years, I guess that’s why Natsuru is wearing them even though he’s actually a guy. What I find weirder than that is that their clothes are all torn from the attacks, but it doesn’t look like they’ve actually been hurt anywhere. You’ve gotta have some skill to cut through stockings but leave the skin unharmed.

As usual, Kuroko is wearing some outrageously revealing outfit, putting the spice in the show. I can’t imagine what To Aru Kagaku no Railgun would be like without her.

Waking up to a couple of almost-naked catgirls would be nice if it weren’t for the fact that I’m allergic to them.

It’s been a while since NEEDLESS ended so I was a bit surprised to see this poster in here.

I stopped watching Weiss Survive quite a while ago, but I might pick it up again since it looks like there are new characters now.

I wonder what the girl on top is doing…

Looks like Plug is getting scolded again. Not exactly sure why she’s not wearing anything besides an apron.

Tayutama ended quite a while back as well, but I don’t mind seeing a new poster every now and then since I really like the character designs. I prefer animal ears that look like it’s a part of the hair rather than ones that just randomly stick out of the head.

Walking in on a girl changing is never a good idea.

The ears in Nyan Koi are an example of what I mean by ears that just stick out of the head rather than blend in with the hair.

Bernkastel is a little weird, so I can imagine her doing something like this. What I don’t get is why Lambda Delta looks so annoyed, she should be enjoying seeing Bernkastel in a sexy pose.

It doesn’t look like the makers of Aika ZERO have caught on to the stripped pantsu fad yet.

I got around to watching Kowarekake no Orgol last month, it was so cute, but so sad.

There was quite a bit of info on biribiri and friends in this issue. I wonder if Kuroko will ever succeed in dominating Mikoto.

There are some pretty amazing swimsuit figures now available. If they didn’t cost so much, I’d probably have a shelf full of anime figures in bikinis.

Looks like Princess Lover is trying to sell some more DVDs. The story didn’t seem all that good though.

The extra item that comes with the magazine this time is not a B2 size poster, but a book-in-book titled “All About Haruhi.” I’m sure you can already tell what’s going to be in it based on the title.

I wish I had a full-size image of Haurhi in that dress on the right. Does anyone know where I can find one?

Yuki looks really good in her dress too.

I was a bit disappointed that Mikuru was wearing her usual bunny outfit. I was hoping she’d get a nice dress too.

There was quite a bit of information about Haruhi in this book.

At the end was a reminder about the Haruhi movie that came out earlier this year. I can’t wait for it to come out on DVD. On the left is a bunch of postcards that come with the book.

The reverse side of the postcards have some sweet Haruhi pics. My favourite is the one on the top right with the girls in wedding dresses. I certainly won’t be mailing these anywhere.

Considering that this volume was released for December, I expected a lot more winter posters, but There seemed to be more swimsuit posters than usual. I guess with the cold weather, the guys at Megami Magazine decided their readers needed something to warm them up. My favourites in this volume were the Seitokai, Railgun, and Tayutama posters. I also really like the Haruhi book-in-book.

Megami Magazine Vol. 111

There were lots of yummy posters in this volume of Megami Magazine, and some nice extras too. As always, here’s a look at what posters they have in this volume:

First up is the wise wolf Horo in an enticing pose on the bed. Personally, I think the colour of her ears and tail make her look more like a fox than a wolf.

Not sure what anime this is from.

Saki posters are always nice to look at.

Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo posters are also welcome any time. Having the girls in chinese dresses is a plus.

Canaan looks pretty good, but I still have no clue what’s going on.

I’m sure lolicons would enjoy this anime. It was too “cute” for me.

I like the girl with the leaf bikini, the the one to the right of her is freaking scary.

Princess Lover = harem + fanservice, a combination I’m starting to grow tired of in anime, but it makes for nice posters like this one.

It’s almost as if she’s deliberately showing everyone her panties. Seriously, how many people actually bend over like that to take a drink of water.

What I don’t get about Umi Monogatari is if these people live in the ocean, why do they have feet, wouldn’t it make more sense to have flippers? Anyways, its got nice artwork and I like the character designs ^.^

Anyone with a megane fetish would probably like this poster.

I didn’t think Rika was the type to wear ichigo panties, she’s always so serious.

This is probably the most risqué picture I’ve seen in Megami Magazine. You can actually see part of Plug’s nipple >.>

Poor Zwei, little does he know that the two women that he cares for the most have dumped him for each other.

I like the older version of Mashiro, but the loli version is kinda cute too.

Here’s more loli material in the form of a blue-haired robot.

I was quiet surprised at how much they decided to expose in this volume (the Juuden-chan and Spice and Wolf posters), but hey, with the new Nyantype Magazine out they’ve got to step up the service. I guess we’ll be expecting some more skin in the future.

Some of the images for upcoming (or I guess past) DVD releases and newer series were also really nice.

More Tayutama on Blu-Ray and DVD.

The first Phantom DVD is also out now.

I’d like to see someone cosplay as Plug from Fight! Ippatsu Juuden-chan just to see what they’d look like in that suit.

I still haven’t gotten around to watching Hayate no Gotoku 2. It looks like I’ll have to watch it all in one go like with the first one.

I haven’t seen anything on Kanokon for a while. Chizuru looks the same as always.

Lelouch certainly did manage to obtain an impressive harem.

Girls, magic, and panties; that should sum up Yoku Wakaru Gendai Mahou pretty well.

Needless is the perfect anime for adolescent boys. It’s got cool heroes, some fight scenes, and bouncing boobs galore.

Kara no Kyoukai is another one of those anime that I still haven’t gotten around to watching.

This little plush toy of Horo really creeps me out. Is this even on anyone’s want list?

One of the extras that came in the volume was this K-ON pencil board. Unfortunately mine’s stuck to the magazine and I’m afraid I might rip out some pages if I try to pull it out.

On the other side of the pencil board is the evangelion image from the front cover.

The other extra that I got was this little K-ON booklet. Here’s a little peek at the contents:

I didn’t know the K-ON club had so many releases already. I wonder if any of these CDs are still available.

That’s it for this volume of Megami Magazine. I thought there was a noticeable change in this one compared to previous volumes. The posters seemed more fanservicey than usual, and there was a pencil board AND booklet included with the magazine (it’s usually one or the other). Hopefully there will be even more extras in the future ^.^

Megami Magazine Vol. 110

The 110th volume of Megami Magazine features Saki and Nodoka from the mahjong anime “Saki” on the front cover. I’m not following Saki right now, but from the images that I’ve seen it looks like more than just mahjong goes on in the anime.

The posters this time around were pretty nice, as you can see below:

On the first page are the moe girls of K-ON. Personally, I liked Mio at the start, but by the end of the series, my favourite character had shifted to Mugi. It makes me sad that they decided not to include her in this poster :(

Like I said before, I really liked the animation in Tayutama, but the story just couldn’t keep me watching so it’s nice to get some posters I can put on my wall.

Yay for Haruhi-chan!

I haven’t seen Basquash before, but from the size of those oppai, I’m guessing there’s quite a bit of fanservice in it.

It’s funny how there seems to be so many more female fighters in Valkyria Chronicles than in real life. I’m not complaining though, especially if there’s more Alicia.

Yoko doing cosplay is always a plus. I like the chinese dress best out of the four. In case you’re wondering where all the costumes are from, it’s actually from Yoko’s first album which you can read about here.

Here’s the first of the Saki posters in this volume. It looks like it belongs on a dakimakura instead of a poster, but I like it, she looks so cute with those bunny ears.

On the reverse side of the bunny ear girl are the girls from Queen’s Blade. Strangely enough, even though they’re in bathing suits on the beach, they don’t seem to be flashing as much skin as in the anime.

I can’t wait for the Kowarekake no Orgol anime to come out. If any of you don’t know what it is, it’s basically something being put together by amateurs (not a production studio) that has a similar story to Chobits. From the trailers on youtube, the animation quality looks even better than some work that actual anime studios have put out.

This volume’s Girls Avenue girl has some big assets :)

I wonder how those two can stand the smell of wet dog.

This is the image that they used on the from cover of the magazine. Unfortunately, they decided to just use a generic background which is a bit upsetting. They could have at least drawn in some scenery or something.

Ever play strip poker? what about strip mahjong? Here’s undeniable proof that there’s more going on in Saki than just mahjong playing. Poor Nodoka looks like she lost a few too many times.

I’m not sure what’s up with this duck outfit, it looks kinda weird.

In the non-poster parts of the magazine there’s some stats and bios of all the Queen’s Blade characters. I’m sure fans would like to know the actual measurements of their favourite girls.

I still haven’t gotten around to watching the second season of Hayate no Gotoku 2, but it looks like Hinagiku is in it quite a bit, all the more reason to watch it soon.

In case anyone was wondering what the voices behind the characters of K-ON actually look like, here they are.

There was no large poster in this volume, but I did get some nice K-ON stickers instead (oh joy -.-).

Some info on Kowarekake no Orgol, which will be coming out this summer.

Weib Schwarz really does have a lot of advertisements. I’m thinking of actually getting some cards now, they look nice, and the gameplay is explained in the anime Weib Survive (Weiss Survive).

Utawarerumono fans probably already know this, but the OVA came out last month.

Besides not having Mugi in a poster, and replacing the regular large poster with some stickers, I actually liked this volume. My favourite posters would be the Tayutama one, the one of Yoko, the bunny-ears girl, and the Kowarekake no Orgol one.

Nyantype Magazine Vol. 1

After much searching and some waiting, I was able to get a hold on a copy of Nyantype Magazine volume 1 (unfortunately, it’s a bit damaged from shipping). Since it is the first volume I guess a lot of people wanted it to see is it was any good, making it really hard for me to find. Much like Megami Magazine (it’s actually a near carbon copy), Nyantype has a number of pinup posters at the front and back of the magazine with info on anime, games, and figures in between. To start off, here are all the pinup posters included in the magazine:

I’m sure anyone out there with a foot fetish would live this Haruhi poster.

This one of Haruhi, Mikuru, and Yuki really looks like it would make a good dakimura. Maybe they’ve already made one.

Out of all the new characters in Nanoha Strikers, the only one I actually liked was Teana.

I’m sure there’s many guys out there who would swap “guns” with Yoko right now.

I really like the character designs for Tayutama, but I just couldn’t stand the story. Oh well, I’ll just have to enjoy posters like this one instead :)

It always seems like Ein is being molested by someone.

Rin, Kuro, and Mimi from pedo anime Kodomo no Jikan also make an appearance. It’s scary to think that Mimi is only in elementary school…

The dreaded steam/fog commonly found in Megami Magazine also seems to have infected Nyantype magazine.

Ako (left) and Riko (right) seem to have gone back to their panty-flashing ways after an encounter with some slimy tentacles.

I always thought Riannon was an innocent looking girl, but looks can be deceiving, just look where her left hand is.

If the proportion of cute girls in Valkyria Chronicles was actually representative of the military, I’d sign up in an instant.

Out of all the pinup posters, I’d say my favourite is the Tayutama one even though I don’t watch the anime. The one with Haruhi, Mikuru, and Yuki in bed was also nice.

Like Megami Magazine, Nyantype Magazine also has news on popular anime and anything anime related:

On the first pages of the magazine is an ad for Yoko’s (Gurren Lagann) new single “Pieces of Sweet Stars” which was released on May 27. The single comes with some nice Yoko pics and a music video which you can see on youtube.

Of course, any magazine that focues on bishoujo characters must include Nanoha. Still waiting for the new movie to come out.

There’s also a short section in the magazine that lists all the new upcoming anime for summer 2009. Canaan looks pretty good so I’ll be looking forward to that.

Another similarity between Nyantype and Megami is these little manga inserts.

One thing that Nyantype has included that isn’t in Megami are these non-poster full-page images. It’d be a bit hard to cut these ones out to stick on your wall, but they’re still nice to look at.

Near the end of the magazine is also a section devoted to bishoujo games.

At the very back is something that regular readers of Megami Magazine would be familiar with by now: Weib Schwarz trading cards ads.

This volume came with a free card of the adult version of Nanoha.

The back of Nyantype Magazine just has some ads for Minami-ke and Tora Dora.

Overall, I thought Nyantype Magazine was worth the $15+shipping, but I think Megami Magazine is just a bit better. Why you ask? Althought Nyantype Magazine is almost an exact copy of Megami Magazine, there is one big difference: it has no size B2 poster included. I know a lot of people get these magazines for the posters, and when it comes to posters, the bigger the better.

Megami Magazine Vol. 109

Time for a look at another volume of Megami Magazine. This issue has a lot of goodies in terms of posters, and some very very nice extras which you will find near the bottom of this post.

Haven’t seen one of these larger posters in a while. The front features Kyou and Ryou Fujibayashi from Clannad.

On the reverse side are the girls from everyone’s favourite anime this season, K-ON. After seeing Mugi-chan in a nurse costume and here in a maid costume, I have concluded that she should be a professional cosplayer. Poor Mio looks so embarrassed.

I wonder how Nodoka is able to keep that towel around herself.

I finally have the Taiga nopan poster ^.^

Queen’s Blade is too much ecchi and not enough story for my tastes.

I watched the first episode of Asura Cryin and it just looked like an amalgamation of every anime genre possible: supernatural, magic, mystery, adventure, mecha, ninjas, etc.

Nice poster of the girls from Tayutama.

Not sure which anime this is from, but I like the girl on the left (pink hair is always a plus).

I thought this was a very nice poster of Fate and Teana. I think Teana looks better with her hair down.

I was too busy looking at the girl to notice the huge number of cats in the background at first.

Currently enjoying Natsu no Arashi, but I wish the animation was a bit better.

Yoko’s right oppai looks really deformed with the strap like that…

It looks like Ein doesn’t go anywhere without her gun.

Second episode of Kissxsis comes out on May 22.

I really like this Higurashi poster. I wish the Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Rei OVA episodes would be released sooner.

One more Nagi poster for all the Kannagi fans.

I liked the variety of posters that they had this time around. Only K-ON had more than one poster so there’s sure to be something for everyone in this volume. I also liked how they included past, current, and upcoming series this time. On to more of the magazine itself:

Looking forward to To Aru Kagaku no Railgun. More Mikoto and Kuroko ftw (though I actually like Kuroko more than Mikoto).

Can’t wait for the new Nanoha movie to come out.

I just love Fate’s pose on this page.

I read the Hatsukoi Limited manga, and although it was easy to get lost in all the characters, it was still enjoyable. I would have to say my favourite character is Koyoi.

I did not know that the school swimsuit mecha nurse girl nana figure was cast-offable >.>

Episode 3 of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei is almost out, only 1 more week! The 3rd and 4th episodes will be released on June 24 and August 21 respectively.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, this volume came with some very nice extras, and here they are:

First is a Nanoha pencil board, with Nanoha on one side

and Fate on the other. I really love Fate’s pose, hope they make a poster of it in the future.

The other extra that came with this volume is Megami Magazine’s volume 1.5 of the Nanoha Visual Collection. Since it’s volume 1.5, there aren’t as many pics as a full volume, but they’re still really nice. Resized scans are below, the originals were too huge, but if enough people want them then I might post them somewhere.

This is definitely one of the better Megami Magazines I’ve seen (maybe even the best). Lots of variety to appeal to a larger audience, and although there was no large poster this time, I thought the Nanoha goodies more than made up for that. If you’re planning on buying a Megami Magazine, I would recommend volume 109.

Megami Magazine Vol. 108

After nearly a month of waiting, I finally got vol. 108 of Megami Magazine. This volume contains a lot of Clannad After Story and mostly posters of older series. Since I had some free time today I decided to scan the posters in to see how they turned out.

More Nanoha is always good. Still waiting for the movie though.

Toradora was an awesome story, if you haven’t seen it I suggest you do so soon, you don’t know what you’re missing.

Queen’s Blade looks like an ero anime disguised as a regular anime…

I’ve never seen Da Capo or Da Capo II so I don’t know who this maid girl is, but she’s so cute ^.^

At this point I stopped scanning the posters. My scanner could only fit half a poster at a time so it took a while to scan each one and sticking the two halves together was a bit annoying too.

I think Ushio looks too much like a boy. They should have drawn her more like the girl that’s always with that robot.

Seeing Nagisa in those clothes somehow reminds me of Card Captor Sakura, all she’s missing is a wand and some Clow Cards.

One big happy family. It’s so hard to believe that Sanae is actually a grandmother, she looks so young.

The K-ON craze (or Mio craze) is really getting out of hand. I’m sure there will be more of these posters to come in the next few volumes of Megami Magazine.

Is it just me, or is Nodoka not wearing any panties?

I wish they had a poster of Mikoto and Kuroko instead of these three. Oh well, Mikoto is getting her own anime so I’m happy.

Overall, I didn’t think the posters in this volume were that spectacular. The only two that I really liked was the Da Capo II one and the one with Nagisa in that white dress.

Although the posters lacked content from the new season, at least the main part of the magazine had some nice full-page ads and screenshots of some new anime.

After watching the first episode of Hatsukoi Limited, I decided to read the manga, which turned out pretty good. It’s not as loaded with fanservice as Lilim Kiss or Ighigo 100% (same author), but in my opinion the story was much better.

Everyone probably already knows this, but the K-ON opening and ending songs were released on April 22.

I just thought I’d point out something here: the girl on the far left seems to be missing a vital piece of clothing.

I watched the first episode of Tayutama, the character designs are really nice, but it looks like another harem anime and I’ve gotten sick of harem anime now.

Phantom, on the other hand looks to have a lot of potential. Hopefully it doesn’t suck as much as people said the OVA did.

I didn’t know about this until I saw this page, but there’s a Toradora game coming out for the PSP. Now if only I had a PSP and knew how to read Japanese :(

Up till now, every Megami Magazine that I’ve gotten has come with a large double-sided poster, but that’s not the case this time. Instead of inserting a large poster along with this volume, Megami Magazine included a little booklet on Clannad After Story.

There were a lot of nice pictures on the cover so I thought there would be larger version inside the booklet, but I was wrong.

Most of the booklet was like what you see above. There was also four pages with the characters in different outfits which is a bit better, but not as good as having a poster.

After looking through the booklet, I was rather diappointed in it. If you’re a big Clannad fan, then this volume of Megami Magazine would be worth getting, but just keep in mind that this one doesn’t come with a large poster.

Megami Magazine Vol. 107

This volume of Megami Magazine features the girls of Toradora on the front cover (yay!) As you can probably tell from my other posts, Toradora is one of my favourite series so I was really happy to see Ami, Minori and Taiga on the cover ^.^

There were a lot of good posters this time around as you can see:

I found Fuuko to be a bit annoying, but her conversations with Tomoya were hilarious.

Index’s battle costume is awesome. Too bad they didn’t have Mikoto or Kuroko dress up as well.

I think the goth-loli fashion looks weird in real life, but it looks really nice in anime.

It’s nice to see that Nanoha still makes some appearances in Megami Magazine every once in a while. I’m still waiting for the movie to come out.

I’ve heard of a root beer float, but I’ve never seen whipped cream on melon soda, much less with a naked girl on top. Akikan sure does provide a lot of strange fanservice.

That’s a scary dog sitting on the girl o.o

Rin sure knows how to tease people, but at least Kuro seems to be enjoying herself.

This is my favourite poster in this volume. I like how the three of them have their hair tied up in ponytails, and although I have a bunch of Toradora posters already, more is always better.

This girl was also in the previous volume. I looked up the title and she’s from an eroge called “Tayutama – Kiss on My Diety” which is being aired as an anime this spring. The plot seems kinda dumb, but the character designs are nice, so there’s probably going to be more posters to come.

Queen’s Blade will also be airing this spring, but it seems more like an excuse to show off scantily clad women fighting with swords.

If anyone knows where I can find the wallpaper for the Hayate no Gotoku image above, I’d appreciate it if you left a comment here pointing the way :)

There were several pages in this volume that featured the main female cast of Toradora. I liked the little chart they have at the top left beside Minori and Taiga that shows everyone’s relationship with each other.

Ami and Minori get their own pages here. With the way things turned out in episode 24, I wonder if anything will happen between the two of them ;)

Clannad After Story turned out to have a happy ending, which is good since everyone is happy now, but I thought it basically turned the last part of the series into filler since it’s actually a “what if” scenario.

Myself;Yourself Sorezore no Finale is being released on April 30 for the PS2. Nowadays it seems that the only games that come out for the PS2 are dating games.

After watching a few episodes of Haruhi-chan and Churuya-san, I’d have to say Haruhi-chan is better. The animation in Haruhi-chan is more detailed (they don’t have dots for eyes) and it’s actually funny, unlike Churuya-san which just makes no sense at all.

There are a lot of risque figures that are/will be available. Sometimes I wonder what the girlfriends of the guys that collect more revealing figures think about them (if these girlfriends even exist).

Here’s some more anime merchandise in the form of posters, DVDs and alarm clocks.

This is the first time I’ve heard of Chaos (character operating system). At first I thought it was some kind of program that turned your operating system on your computer to some anime theme, but it turns out to be some special cards for some game.

Weib Scharz is also now selling Lucky Star cards.

The large poster that came with this volume seems to be bunny themed.

On one side are the girls from Kannagi in bunny costumes.

On the other side are Minori and Taiga from Toradora in bunny costumes. It’s too bad they’re missing Ami in this poster, she’s my favourite character :(

This volume of Megami Magazine is my favourite so far, mainly because it has more Toradora stuff. But besides Toradora, I didn’t think there were many bland posters this time around and there was some variety of shows both old, current, and upcoming.
