Summer 2013 Anime Wrap-up

summer2013

Hishashiburi, minna!

I wasn’t able to get around to my Summer 2013 round-up post so it looks like now I’m doing a wrap-up post. For those wondering where I’ve been, doing an MBA is more work than I thought. I finished my finals for the first term on Friday and I have this weekend off before school begins again on Monday (yes, having a weekend now counts as “time off”). Its been a productive weekend with me being a shut-in by only going to 2 of the dozen or so networking/social events and spending the rest of my time playing Atelier Meruru and catching up on anime. These aren’t complete reviews, but as my professors all say, “you should be able to sum up everything into one sentence or a 30-second elevator pitch,” so these paragraphs will give you a good impression of how I saw each series.

Megami Magazine Vol. 133

June 29, 2011 By: Nopy Category: Megami Magazine

It looks like I remembered about the June 2011 volume of Megami Magazine just before the month ends. This volume came out in the midst of the Spring anime season, so if you’ve enjoyed the anime recently and want some posters, you might want to consider ordering. The cover features the Shana clone, Aria, from Hidan no Aria. I thought it was great how they used bullet holes to feature some other characters.

The posters you’ll find in this volume are shown below. As usual, ecchi content isn’t directly shown on this page, click the links if you want to see them.

Megami Magazine Vol. 130

March 24, 2011 By: Nopy Category: Megami Magazine

I was in for a little surprise when I opened up the March 2011 issue of Megami Magazine, also known as volume 130. Unlike all of the other volumes that just come with a pretty anime girl (or girls) on a dull cover, this one has SPARKLES! In this volume, Megami decided to embed some tons of bright, multi-coloured, sparkly stars in the cover. You can only see some of them in the picture because of the angle, but they fill the whole page. I think it’s rather fitting considering they featured the girls from Idolmaster on the cover this time.

Enough about the cover though, lets see what kind of posters they have this time around (ecchi images linked):

Nyantype Magazine Vol. 14

January 31, 2011 By: Nopy Category: Nyantype Magazine

It looks like I’m behind on magazine posts again, so it’s time to catch up. Volume 14 of Nyantype Magazine is very Nanoha-centric as you can probably guess from the cover page. This is mainly because this volume came out around the time the Nanoha movie came out on BD/DVD. As with my previous magazine post, very ecchi images will be linked. By clicking on them, I hold no responsibility if your boss/coworker/friend/lover/parent peeks over your shoulder.

Megami Magazine Vol. 127

January 16, 2011 By: Nopy Category: Megami Magazine

After what has felt like ages, I can finally get back to making regular posts again. My computer is all fixed and I don’t have anything I need to complete until February (yay). Today I have here the 127th volume of Megami Magazine, also known as the December 2010 issue.

Normally you’d think that a bishoujo magazine released in December would have a lot of girls in sexy Santa outfits, but Megami has a different take on things. Since December is one of the coldest months of the year (if you live in the northern hemisphere), Megami was nice enough to include lots of images to help warm you up, including beach and swimsuit ones. As usual, ecchi images aren’t shown directly (in case someone peeks over your shoulder), but now I’ve included links to each one to make it easier to get to.

Fall 2010 Anime Round-up

October 11, 2010 By: Nopy Category: Anime

I hope everyone in Canada enjoyed Thanksgiving today. I spent most of the day studying and I don’t think I can memorize any more so here I am writing a blog post. Somehow I’ve managed to keep up with the new series airing this season and I think I’ve seen the first episode of everything that isn’t a sequel. Now it’s time to decide which series to follow and which ones will get the axe.

Bakuman

Thoughts: I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Bakuman manga, but the first episode of the anime failed to impress me. The animation wasn’t great, and it was only mildly funny. I do realize that this is supposed to be one of those growing up or coming-of-age stories so it might take a while for the plot to really take off.

Status: Will watch a few more episodes.
