Figures

Unless this is your first time here, you’ll know that I’ve been collecting figures for a while. I bought my first figure back in August of 2007 – a 1/8 scale PVC figure of Haruhi by Max Factory. I later found it it was a bootleg, but managed to get a hold of an authentic one a couple months later. The detail that was put into the sculpt and painting really impressed me and that was what got me started on buying more figures. I got my first nendoroid soon after that, Light Yagami from Death Note, and once again I was really impressed with the detail. Currently, over a third of my figures are nendoroids. Pictures of my figure collection are below. Some of my newer figures aren’t displayed because I haven’t opened them yet.

Manga

Despite watching anime since I was a kid, I didn’t really get into reading manga until much later. The first manga that I read was I”s by Masakazu Katsura. I was a teenager in high school when I read this and it just blew me away. I”s was what really got me off the shonen/action genre and into romance/drama such as Fruits Basket, Love Hina, and Pastel.

Right now my manga collection consists of Chibi Vampire (aka Karin), Comic Party, FLCL, Fruits Basket, The Legend of Chun Hyang, Magic Knight Rayearth, Mamotte Shugogetten, Nadesico, Pastel, RG Veda, Sailor Moon, School Rumble, and Tsubasa Chronicles. As you can tell, I really like Clamp’s works. If I could only pick one series to keep out of all of these, it would have to be Sailor Moon. It was one of the first successful manga in North America so it was extremely hard to find and very expensive, not to mention that Sailor Moon was my favourite show back when I was a child.

Magazines/Artbooks

My magazine and artbook collection is still pretty small since it’s the most recent thing I’ve started collecting. Right now I’m subscribed to Megami, Dengeki G’s, and Nyantype magazines. I also try to get a copy of the Etsu Girls Girls Girls! collections when they come out.

My main reason for collecting these magazines/artbooks is because of the beautiful artwork. After that, I just want the extras that come along with each magazine issue ^.^

Games

Videogames have been a big part of my life ever since I picked up a light gun and shot some ducks in the game Duck Hunt on the NES. Although I only really play on my XBOX 360 nowadays, I still have an NES, SNES, N64, Dreamcast, PS2, Gameboy (original), and NDS.

My favourite games for each console are: NES – Duckhunt, SNES – Super Street Fighter 2, N64 – StarFox 64, DC – Capcom vs SNK 2, PS2 – Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, Gameboy – Tetris, NDS – Ace Attorney Series, 360 – Gears of War. Although I do enjoy playing JRPGs, they never became my favourites, probably because once you’ve finished the game there really isn’t any point in going back other than to get some more items or fight some more monsters. Also, in case anyone is wondering, I do have an XBL account, so if you’re interested in playing a game with me just email me and I can give you my XBL name. Just note that I am pretty busy sometimes so I might not have time to play anything.

Yu-Gi-Oh

I got into Yu-Gi-Oh a bit late so there weren’t many people to play against, but I did manage to amass quite a few cards as you can see here.

I even managed to get the original Kaiba and Yugi decks (though they were opened). Right now, my main deck uses Pikeru and Curran with a ton of support cards to freeze my opponent’s movements and drain their life points while increasing mine. It seems to work great most of the time. My favourite card in my collection is Dark Magician Girl, she cost quite a bit, but she’s such a cutie that I had to get her.

Sailor Moon

The collection that I’m most proud of is my Sailor Moon card collection. Like I said earlier, Sailor Moon was my favourite show when I was a child, so naturally I wanted a bunch of Sailor Moon merchandise. I started my card collection when I was 8 years old and I would trade cards with my friends once or twice a week. My collection didn’t really get very big until several years ago when I started buying cards off of girls that had grown out of Sailor Moon and from parents whose daughters had moved out and left behind their cards. It’s kinda weird knowing I’m one of the very few guys in the world that collect these cards while most other collectors are female. In total I have over 1300 unique cards in a very thick binder, but my collection is far from being complete. What sucks is that most of these cards are over a decade old (some are approaching 2 decades) so it’s getting harder and harder to find the cards I need to complete my collection.

As you might be able to tell from the above pictures, I have some cards that I’m missing here and there. I’ve listed my complete collection below:

If anyone out there has some cards that I’m missing (ones that aren’t listed above), I’m willing to trade. I have a LOT of duplicates so just send me an email with your offers and what you want in return and I’ll check to see if I have extras. Oh, and for those of you who are wondering, my collection is worth well over $1500 and 14 years of searching so I’m not selling it.

So that wraps up all the things that I collect. You can probably tell that once I start collecting something, I can get pretty obsessive with it, which might not be a good thing. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed the peek into my other collections besides figures and magazines. Featured on the cover of volume 114 of Megami Magazine are To Aru Kagaku no Railgun characters biribiri and my favourite, Kuroko. I quite liked the variety of pin-up posters that were included this time around. As usually, I have pics of them below:

Haruka Nogizaka is probably the dream girlfriend for many otaku, mainly because she’s an otaku herself. I still haven’t watch the second season, but I will once all of the blu-rays are out.

This was a bit surprising, a poster with Saki characters, but no Nodoka. I guess all of the posters of her from previous volumes was too much.

I can’t see Shana not being able to jump over that thing. As small as she is, she’s still really athletic.

It looks like feathers are now included as one of the censor materials, including steam, fog, rays of light, and the traditional green leaf.

Sometimes I wonder what angels actually wear. I highly doubt it’d be anything like the clothing from Sora no Otoshimono though.

Like I said in a previous post, it seems like Horo is always naked in her pin-up posters. It doesn’t look like Megami Magazine is going to put clothes on her any time soon.

I get a feeling there’s going to be a big wave of ero-anime coming out in the future, and I blame it on the success of Queen’s Blade.

I’d much rather have slice-of-life harem comedies like Seitokai no Ichizon. Has anyone ever noticed that Kurimu’s name sounds like “cream” in English but with a Japanese accent?

Speaking of cream, Charlotte and Sylvia seems to have gotten it all over themselves in this poster.

I only watched the trailer for Sacred Blacksmith. Did anyone finish the series? How did it turn out?

I don’t think anyone can argue that Mio is the moe-moe queen. She looks cute no matter what age she is.

This brings up an interesting concept, mermaid maids.

I never really got into Taishou Yakyuu Musume, probably because I have no interest in baseball.

I want to watch Kiddy Girl-and, but I want to watch Kiddy Grade first.

These girls from NEEDLESS have really short skirts…

Nyankoi was one of those anime that I never really got into.

CANAAN and bunny girls seem to be a common combination.

Does anyone know what Plug is doing here? She’s lying in bed with her underwear off, and she’s holding a can containing some white stuff. I wonder what it is.

I still haven’t gotten the chance to watch Kowarekake no Orgol. I hear it’s either really sad or happy at the end, depending on how you look at it.

I was actually looking forward to 11eyes before it came out, but the 1st episode was such a disappointment that I decided not to watch it. The girls looked kinda cute though.

I don’t know why they included a Halloween girl when this is the November volume of Megami Magazine, but I like ^.^

I just laughed when I saw this clothing. I don’t care what anyone says, you can’t look like a cool gangster when you have girls from the most moe anime in recent memory on the back of your jacket.

It’d be nice if there was a pin-up poster for this image.

I also wouldn’t mind if each of the girls in Seitokai no Ichizon got their own posters. I’d especially like one of Mafuyu in that pose.

In case you were wondering, this is what the seiyuu for the Seitokai girls look like. It’s nice to see that Mafuyu’s seiyuu is pretty good looking too.

I wasn’t aware that they were releasing a second Higurashi live-action movie until I saw this. I guess I’ll have to find some way to get this one too.

Volume 114 came along with a pencil board. On one side is the image of Rin and Saber from volume 113, which is kinda weird since it would’ve made more sense to include it in that volume instead of this one.

On the other side is a young maid.

As usual, a large poster was also included with this volume.

On the front is the same image that was on the cover of the magazine. This is definitely going on my wall.

On the reverse side is Vivio from Nanoha StrikerS. I think it looks weird having Nanoha and Fate’s clothes spread out like that beside her.  It looks like she zapped them to dust and all that’s left of them are their clothes or something.

This was a pretty nice volume of Megami Magazine, it had a large variety of anime and some really good posters. My favourite pin-up poster is the one of Kurimu-chan, and I really liked the To Aru Kagaku no Railgun poster. Overall a good improvement over the previous volume.

Three months later than usual, here’s Megami Magazine Vol. 113 featuring Rin Tosaka and Saber on the front  cover. Its been a while since I’ve been able to flip through a Megami Magazine so this was like a blast from the past for me.

Although this was from a while ago, I don’t think K-ON will be going away anytime soon.

I know Mio, Yui, and Azusa are the three most popular girls of K-ON, but I’d still like to see more of my favourite character, Mugi.

Did anyone actually enjoy the Princess Lover anime?

I swear that almost every poster of Horo has her naked, but she’s wearing clothes all of the time in the anime.

As much as I liked the beginning of CANAAN, it just fell off a cliff somewhere in the middle, but at least we got some bunny girls out of it.

Fight! Ippatsu Juuden-chan was probably one of the more ecchi anime out there last season, it’s no surprise that the Juuden-chan posters are so suggestive…

It feels like so long ago that Saki aired, so seeing this poster kinda surprised me.

I thought this one was pretty cool. I like the girl in the blue suit.

After so long, I still can’t believe what happened at the end of Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~, it was so sad. Well, at least it looks like Mio and Elen are enjoying themselves though.

I’ve never heard of Mahou Tsuka wa Yuyu Shiki Otome before, but Ru-ru Kisaragi and Yu-yu Mashiro look pretty cute.

What better way to sell anime cards than to make your own anime? I still have to catch up with Weiss Survive, but I don’t remember the episodes being all that long.

I’m pretty sure now that Kanokon is really an H-anime disguised as a regular anime (kinda like Queen’s Blade), especially after having seen the screenshots of the OVA.

Did anyone watch all of GA? I remember seeing the first episode and thought it was too childish, does it get any better or is it pretty much the same throughout the series?

Aika Zero = panty-shot heaven? It seems all the Megami Magazine posters of it involve panty shots.

Still waiting for Kowarekake no Orgol to be released. It feels like its been in production forever.

Just a reminder for anyone looking forward to Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works, it comes out on Jan. 23 this year.

These pages sure do bring back memories. I think I only watched the first four episodes of Endless Eight. There’s only so much time a person can waste just to see their favourite characters in different clothing.

After seeing these pages, I remembered that the opening song for the Nadeko Snake arc in Bakemonogatari should be out now, then I find out that its been delayed. Looks like I’ll have to wait until the end of the month to get the full version of Renai Circulation by Kana Hanazawa.

A look at some new figures. Unfortunately, it was impossible for me to preorder the Mio nendoroid in time, and I don’t have enough money or room for a collection of Touhou figures.

As if having their own anime and posters wasn’t enough, Weib Schwarz is still putting a bunch of ads at the back of Megami Magazines.

If anyone liked Princess Lover, the DVDs are already coming out for them.

This volume came with a large poster. On one side is Nanoha from Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha The Movie 1st. As much as I like Nanoha, I personally think that Megami has been overloaded with Nanoha material over the past year.

On the other side is the same image of Rin and Saber that was on the cover of the magazine.

I like a few of the posters in this volume, like the K-ON ones and the “deep one” poster, but overall I didn’t think they were all that great. Sure, there were a lot of girls in bikinis, which is true for every Megami Magazine, but it just felt like something was missing. Maybe it was just some of the poses or backgrounds could have been done better. I’m also not too excited about some of the childish stuff like GA and Kanamemo; it’s Megami (goddess) Magazine after all, they should just stick to what they’re good at: bishoujo anime characters.

On the bottom are Rika and Hanyuu from Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Kai, and Fate from Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS. The border authorities inspected my copy of Dengeki G’s December issue, which is why it’s out of the plastic. Sometimes I wonder why they check printed material so often; I’ve only ever had two figures been randomly inspected at the border, but way more of my magazines have been inspected. Sometimes I wonder with so many more inspections of printed material, whether or not someone is purposely trying to restrict freedom of opinion/expression. Anyways, I wish they didn’t inspect my stuff so much, I always feel disappointed when I get something new but its already been opened before I even get a look at it.

I’ll be reviewing all the stuff I got in the next few weeks, so look forward to more posts and lots more pics :D

This volume of Megami Magazine is probably one of the thicker ones that I’ve gotten considering all the freebies that came with it. But as always, lets take a look at the posters first :)

When you’ve got an anime with girls that are always running (or swimming) around in very revealing swimwear, you know they’re going to show up in Megami Magazine sooner or later. That’s certainly the case with Umi Monogatari.

This is a really reall adorable poster of Azu-nyan ^.^ I wish there was a bigger version somewhere.

Even if the girls from an anime aren’t normally in swimwear, Megami Magazine does the favour of putting them in some for us. Canaan looks pretty confused though, I guess anyone would be if they were suddenly put in a swimsuit and found themselves on a beach.

The chair is becoming even worse of an enemy than steam and fog.

Personally, I don’t like it when characters are drawn with red circles on their cheeks, it just looks weird to me. Does anyone else think so too?

On the other hand, red blush doesn’t bother me at all.

I haven’t seen Sengoku Basara, but maybe I should watch it. The character designs certainly look interesting.

When a figure of Plug comes out, I hope it’s in this position ^.^

Plug in a bathtub would be nice too.

Sometimes you have to wonder what the girls in these posters are doing. What kind of situation would involve 3 nearly-naked girls in the bathroom with two girls seemingly feeling up the third.

I think the only reason Ein and Zwei in Phantom ~Requiem For The Phantom~ were pretending to be high school students was so they could show some schoolgirls in the anime. Of coure, now we get to see Drei as a shoolgirl too.

Basquash is also one of those anime I haven’t gotten arond to.

Lolis in swimsuits anyone?

Or maybe you prefer no swimsuits at all.

I haven’t seen any new Yami to Boushi no Hon no Tabibito stuff in a long time. That anime had some good character designs too.

I didn’t really like Kurokami, but with posters like this, it can’t be all bad.

I actually liked the animation in GA, but the anime itself bored me out of my mind. It seems more like something kids would watch.

The girl on the left has a really nice figure for someone so short…

Another Kowarekake no Orgol poster.

Although the posters are the main selling point of Megami Magazine, there was some nice artwork in the magazine itself too. I just love Haruhi in that dress, and look, there are DVD boxsets for Kanokon and Zero no Tsukaima now.

Still waiting for the Nanoha movie to come out, it’s going to be so good!

This page really shocked me, mainly because it’s not animated! But just because it’s not animated doesn’t mean it’s not good, I know I’d like to have my desserts brought to me on a naked girl.

All of these Weib Schwrz ads are starting to make me want to get a deck, I guess ads really do work.

For any other Umineko fans out there, the first DVD will be out this october.

This volume had quite a few freebies that came along with it.

First off is a Nanoha drama CD. I still haven’t listened to it, but I probably wouldn’t understand anything since I don’t know Japanese.

The next freebie was a Weib Schwarz card based on the first Nanoha movie.

There’s also a CD Jacket included so you don’t have to label your new Nanoha CD.

This also came with the magazine. I think the artwork on the cover looks a bit weird, but the actual comic itself is drawn pretty well.

And of course, there’s the large poster that comes with most Megami Magazine volumes. This time around both sides are from Nanoha. The first side is for the movie, and the other side is for the new Nanoha game.

I really liked this volume of Megami Magazine, it had quite a bit of Nanoha stuff which is always welcome. Out of all the posters, I’d have to say that Azu-nyan was my favourite, hopeflly there will be more of her in the future.

There were lots of yummy posters in this volume of Megami Magazine, and some nice extras too. As always, here’s a look at what posters they have in this volume:

First up is the wise wolf Horo in an enticing pose on the bed. Personally, I think the colour of her ears and tail make her look more like a fox than a wolf.

Not sure what anime this is from.

Saki posters are always nice to look at.

Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo posters are also welcome any time. Having the girls in chinese dresses is a plus.

Canaan looks pretty good, but I still have no clue what’s going on.

I’m sure lolicons would enjoy this anime. It was too “cute” for me.

I like the girl with the leaf bikini, the the one to the right of her is freaking scary.

Princess Lover = harem + fanservice, a combination I’m starting to grow tired of in anime, but it makes for nice posters like this one.

It’s almost as if she’s deliberately showing everyone her panties. Seriously, how many people actually bend over like that to take a drink of water.

What I don’t get about Umi Monogatari is if these people live in the ocean, why do they have feet, wouldn’t it make more sense to have flippers? Anyways, its got nice artwork and I like the character designs ^.^

Anyone with a megane fetish would probably like this poster.

I didn’t think Rika was the type to wear ichigo panties, she’s always so serious.

This is probably the most risqué picture I’ve seen in Megami Magazine. You can actually see part of Plug’s nipple >.>

Poor Zwei, little does he know that the two women that he cares for the most have dumped him for each other.

I like the older version of Mashiro, but the loli version is kinda cute too.

Here’s more loli material in the form of a blue-haired robot.

 I was quiet surprised at how much they decided to expose in this  volume (the Juuden-chan and Spice and Wolf posters), but hey, with the new Nyantype Magazine out they’ve got to step up the service. I guess we’ll be expecting some more skin in the future.

Some of the images for upcoming (or I guess past) DVD releases and newer series were also really nice.

The first Phantom DVD is also out now.

I’d like to see someone cosplay as Plug from Fight! Ippatsu Juuden-chan just to see what they’d look like in that suit.

I still haven’t gotten around to watching Hayate no Gotoku 2. It looks like I’ll have to watch it all in one go like with the first one.

I haven’t seen anything on Kanokon for a while. Chizuru looks the same as always.

Lelouch certainly did manage to obtain an impressive harem.

Girls, magic, and panties; that should sum up Yoku Wakaru Gendai Mahou pretty well.

Needless is the perfect anime for adolescent boys. It’s got cool heroes, some fight scenes, and bouncing boobs galore.

Kara no Kyoukai is another one of those anime that I still haven’t gotten around to watching.

This little plush toy of Horo really creeps me out. Is this even on anyone’s want list?

One of the extras that came in the volume was this K-ON pencil board. Unfortunately mine’s stuck to the magazine and I’m afraid I might rip out some pages if I try to pull it out.

On the other side of the pencil board is the evangelion image from the front cover.

I didn’t know the K-ON club had so many releases already. I wonder if any of these CDs are still available.

That’s it for this volume of Megami Magazine. I thought there was a noticeable change in this one compared to previous volumes. The posters seemed more fanservicey than usual, and there was a pencil board AND booklet included with the magazine (it’s usually one or the other). Hopefully there will be even more extras in the future ^.^

The 110th volume of Megami Magazine features Saki and Nodoka from the mahjong anime “Saki” on the front cover. I’m not following Saki right now, but from the images that I’ve seen it looks like more than just mahjong goes on in the anime.

The posters this time around were pretty nice, as you can see below:

On the first page are the moe girls of K-ON. Personally, I liked Mio at the start, but by the end of the series, my favourite character had shifted to Mugi. It makes me sad that they decided not to include her in this poster :(

Like I said before, I really liked the animation in Tayutama, but the story just couldn’t keep me watching so it’s nice to get some posters I can put on my wall.

Yay for Haruhi-chan!

I haven’t seen Basquash before, but from the size of those oppai, I’m guessing there’s quite a bit of fanservice in it.

It’s funny how there seems to be so many more female fighters in Valkyria Chronicles than in real life. I’m not complaining though, especially if there’s more Alicia.

Yoko doing cosplay is always a plus. I like the chinese dress best out of the four. In case you’re wondering where all the costumes are from, it’s actually from Yoko’s first album which you can read about here.

Here’s the first of the Saki posters in this volume. It looks like it belongs on a dakimakura instead of a poster, but I like it, she looks so cute with those bunny ears.

On the reverse side of the bunny ear girl are the girls from Queen’s Blade. Strangely enough, even though they’re in bathing suits on the beach, they don’t seem to be flashing as much skin as in the anime.

I can’t wait for the Kowarekake no Orgol anime to come out. If any of you don’t know what it is, it’s basically something being put together by amateurs (not a production studio) that has a similar story to Chobits. From the trailers on youtube, the animation quality looks even better than some work that actual anime studios have put out.

This volume’s Girls Avenue girl has some big assets :)

This is the image that they used on the from cover of the magazine. Unfortunately, they decided to just use a generic background which is a bit upsetting. They could have at least drawn in some scenery or something.

Ever play strip poker? what about strip mahjong? Here’s undeniable proof that there’s more going on in Saki than just mahjong playing. Poor Nodoka looks like she lost a few too many times.

I’m not sure what’s up with this duck outfit, it looks kinda weird.

In the non-poster parts of the magazine there’s some stats and bios of all the Queen’s Blade characters. I’m sure fans would like to know the actual measurements of their favourite girls.

I still haven’t gotten around to watching the second season of Hayate no Gotoku 2, but it looks like Hinagiku is in it quite a bit, all the more reason to watch it soon.

In case anyone was wondering what the voices behind the characters of K-ON actually look like, here they are.

There was no large poster in this volume, but I did get some nice K-ON stickers instead (oh joy -.-).

Weib Schwarz really does have a lot of advertisements. I’m thinking of actually getting some cards now, they look nice, and the gameplay is explained in the anime Weib Survive (Weiss Survive).

Utawarerumono fans probably already know this, but the OVA came out last month.

Besides not having Mugi in a poster, and replacing the regular large poster with some stickers, I actually liked this volume. My favourite posters would be the Tayutama one, the one of Yoko, the bunny-ears girl, and the Kowarekake no Orgol one.

It’s a bit late, but here’s a look at volume 15 of Megami Magazine which features a lot of very nice art as expected, but with a bit more pantsu and mecha musume than usual.

They always seem to put the most colourful work on the inside cover of each volume.

I really like this artist’s work. The girl on the top left looks so cute and the flying mouse is so cool ^.^

An almost panty shot? If you take a closer look at this drawing and think about it, if that girl were standing up, her skirt probably wouldn’t be long enough to cover her undies.

This one really reminds me of Pleinair from Disgaea. I think it’s the combination of the light blue shoulder-length hair and white shirt.

I remember this girl was in a pin-up poster from an older volume of Megami Magazine. I actually still have the poster on my wall.

It’s not hard to guess what these two girls were up to all night. Just take a look at what the blonde girl is holding (notice the vibration lines).

Nekomimi are always welcome in my collection :)

Of course, pantsu are welcome too, especially shimapan (striped pantsu):

There was also a page full of mecha musume, which I really liked. Exelica is so cute ^.^

Now, I’ve heard of tentacle raep, but snakes? That’s completely new to me, I wonder if they’re poisonous.

Once again, as with the previous Megami Creators volumes, the back cover features more Fortune Arterial. I hope an english version of this game comes out in the future, all this hype over it is making me curious.

The extra this time came in the form of a small mecha-musume-themed calendar instead of a B2 size poster.

I really liked all of the mecha musume in the calendar, but considering I already have a few calendars, I would’ve preferred something else.

Besides the inside cover, and the Pleinair look-alike, I thought some of the works in this volume were a bit bland. Don’t get me wrong, they’re all very good pieces of art, but I just wish some of them used some more vibrant colours. Otherwise, I think this would make a nice addition to my Megami Magazine collection.

Time for a look at another volume of Megami Magazine. This issue has a lot of goodies in terms of posters, and some very very nice extras which you will find near the bottom of this post.

Haven’t seen one of these larger posters in a while. The front features Kyou and Ryou Fujibayashi from Clannad.

On the reverse side are the girls from everyone’s favourite anime this season, K-ON. After seeing Mugi-chan in a nurse costume and here in a maid costume, I have concluded that she should be a professional cosplayer. Poor Mio looks so embarrassed.

I wonder how Nodoka is able to keep that towel around herself.

I finally have the Taiga nopan poster ^.^

Queen’s Blade is too much ecchi and not enough story for my tastes.

I watched the first episode of Asura Cryin and it just looked like an amalgamation of every anime genre possible: supernatural, magic, mystery, adventure, mecha, ninjas, etc.

Not sure which anime this is from, but I like the girl on the left (pink hair is always a plus).

I thought this was a very nice poster of Fate and Teana. I think Teana looks better with her hair down.

I was too busy looking at the girl to notice the huge number of cats in the background at first.

Currently enjoying Natsu no Arashi, but I wish the animation was a bit better.

Yoko’s right oppai looks really deformed with the strap like that…

It looks like Ein doesn’t go anywhere without her gun.

Second episode of Kissxsis comes out on May 22.

I really like this Higurashi poster. I wish the Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Rei OVA episodes would be released sooner.

One more Nagi poster for all the Kannagi fans.

I liked the variety of posters that they had this time around. Only K-ON had more than one poster so there’s sure to be something for everyone in this volume. I also liked how they included past, current, and upcoming series this time. On to more of the magazine itself:

Looking forward to To Aru Kagaku no Railgun. More Mikoto and Kuroko ftw (though I actually like Kuroko more than Mikoto).

Can’t wait for the new Nanoha movie to come out.

I just love Fate’s pose on this page.

I read the Hatsukoi Limited manga, and although it was easy to get lost in all the characters, it was still enjoyable. I would have to say my favourite character is Koyoi.

I did not know that the school swimsuit mecha nurse girl nana figure was cast-offable >.>

Episode 3 of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei is almost out, only 1 more week! The 3rd and 4th episodes will be released on June 24 and August 21 respectively.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, this volume came with some very nice extras, and here they are:

First is a Nanoha pencil board, with Nanoha on one side

and Fate on the other. I really love Fate’s pose, hope they make a poster of it in the future.

The other extra that came with this volume is Megami Magazine’s volume 1.5 of the Nanoha Visual Collection. Since it’s volume 1.5, there aren’t as many pics as a full volume, but they’re still really nice. Resized scans are below, the originals were too huge, but if enough people want them then I might post them somewhere.

This is definitely one of the better Megami Magazines I’ve seen (maybe even the best). Lots of variety to appeal to a larger audience, and although there was no large poster this time, I thought the Nanoha goodies more than made up for that. If you’re planning on buying a Megami Magazine, I would recommend volume 109.

After nearly a month of waiting, I finally got vol. 108 of Megami Magazine. This volume contains a lot of Clannad After Story and mostly posters of older series. Since I had some free time today I decided to scan the posters in to see how they turned out.

More Nanoha is always good. Still waiting for the movie though.

Toradora was an awesome story, if you haven’t seen it I suggest you do so soon, you don’t know what you’re missing.

Queen’s Blade looks like an ero anime disguised as a regular anime…

I’ve never seen Da Capo or Da Capo II so I don’t know who this maid girl is, but she’s so cute ^.^

At this point I stopped scanning the posters. My scanner could only fit half a poster at a time so it took a while to scan each one and sticking the two halves together was a bit annoying too.

I think Ushio looks too much like a boy. They should have drawn her more like the girl that’s always with that robot.

Seeing Nagisa in those clothes somehow reminds me of Card Captor Sakura, all she’s missing is a wand and some Clow Cards.

One big happy family. It’s so hard to believe that Sanae is actually a grandmother, she looks so young.

The K-ON craze (or Mio craze) is really getting out of hand. I’m sure there will be more of these posters to come in the next few volumes of Megami Magazine.

Is it just me, or is Nodoka not wearing any panties?

I wish they had a poster of Mikoto and Kuroko instead of these three. Oh well, Mikoto is getting her own anime so I’m happy.

Overall, I didn’t think the posters in this volume were that spectacular. The only two that I really liked was the Da Capo II one and the one with Nagisa in that white dress.

Although the posters lacked content from the new season, at least the main part of the magazine had some nice full-page ads and screenshots of some new anime.

After watching the first episode of Hatsukoi Limited, I decided to read the manga, which turned out pretty good. It’s not as loaded with fanservice as Lilim Kiss or Ighigo 100% (same author), but in my opinion the story was much better.

Everyone probably already knows this, but the K-ON opening and ending songs were released on April 22.

I just thought I’d point out something here: the girl on the far left seems to be missing a vital piece of clothing.

I watched the first episode of Tayutama, the character designs are really nice, but it looks like another harem anime and I’ve gotten sick of harem anime now.

Phantom, on the other hand looks to have a lot of potential. Hopefully it doesn’t suck as much as people said the OVA did.

I didn’t know about this until I saw this page, but there’s a Toradora game coming out for the PSP. Now if only I had a PSP and knew how to read Japanese :(

Up till now, every Megami Magazine that I’ve gotten has come with a large double-sided poster, but that’s not the case this time. Instead of inserting a large poster along with this volume, Megami Magazine included a little booklet on Clannad After Story.

There were a lot of nice pictures on the cover so I thought there would be larger version inside the booklet, but I was wrong.

Most of the booklet was like what you see above. There was also four pages with the characters in different outfits which is a bit better, but not as good as having a poster.

After looking through the booklet, I was rather diappointed in it. If you’re a big Clannad fan, then this volume of Megami Magazine would be worth getting, but just keep in mind that this one doesn’t come with a large poster.
