Enough about me though, I’m sure you guys are more interested in another nendoroid post.

Haruhi should not be a stranger to anyone, so I don’t think an introduction is necessary here. I skipped out on the original Haruhi nendo, but decided to get the Disappearance version because I love Haruhi with long hair.

Her default pose reminds me of her first appearance in the movie. As Kyon described, Haruhi had that “fighter with no peer” look and feel about her when he finally found out where she had disappeared to. The discontent face that GSC included here captures that look perfectly, and the crossed arms just add to that pose. The arms themselves are two pieces, but both hands are stuck on the left arm. I thought it looked a bit weird when I took them off, but I guess it was either have both hands on the same arm, or make the arms one single piece.

From the side, Haruhi still looks pretty intimidating. The ribbons in her hair really help make her look less dull, and I’m glad that GSC made them a bit longer. If you shortened them even a bit, I think Haruhi would’ve looked way too brown (i.e. brown hair, brown jacket, brown skirt, brown shoes).

Some of the other arm pieces that Haruhi comes with are one holding her bag, and one for posing with her hand on her hip. Once again, the placement of her hand makes her look intimidating, almost as if she’s going to whack you with her bag.

It would have been nice if they had included a bent leg so that you could pose Haruhi kicking something (like Kyon), but instead they included an extra pair of legs with longer socks. They also included the regular Haruhi hairstyle and a happy face for if you don’t like the mean Haruhi. The SOS Brigade armband fits over the left arm piece.

This is just a comparison between the short hair Haruhi and long hair Haruhi. Like I said before, I like her with longer hair, but what do you guys think?

Haruhi also doesn’t look as intimidating in this pose when she has short hair. I guess the longer hair just makes her look bigger than she actually is.

The last face that Haruhi comes with is this sort of mischievous smile. We all know how Haruhi always comes up with plans for the SOS Brigade, so this was a good one to include.

I was very impressed with the print on Haruhi’s armband. There’s no black splotches anywhere on the band and the writing looks very fine and detailed.

Her clothing is rather plain, being solid brown all around. The only details are a button and some pockets. I guess there isn’t really much else GSC could have done here considering this is how Haruhi looked in the movie.

Haruhi’s school bag isn’t quite as well-painted as her armband. You can see a few spots of silver paint where it shouldn’t be, but from a distance it’s not noticeable.

While there aren’t too many details to judge the quality of this nendoroid on, it does have plenty of choices with regards to poses and expression. Haruhi certainly has a wider range of poses than Yuki did, but sacrificed having some non-brown clothing for that. One thing that I really would’ve liked is an extra bent leg. If I had that, I could pose Haruhi kicking Kyon like in the movie.

Since the Haruhi movie takes place in the winter, I thought it would be a shame to not take any pictures of the nendoroids in the snow. It’s all melting now too, so this week was my last chance to get some winter shots with my figures.

I would’ve taken more pictures, but people were starting to stare at me so I packed up and left, but I hope you guys enjoyed that.

I never liked the first set of Haruhi nendoroids that Good Smile Company produced, overall they looked dull and I didn’t think they captured the essence of the characters. That’s why I was really happy that they decided to release a new set of nendoroids based on the movie The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. Yuki was the first nendoroid released, and the promo shots looked good so I preordered her (yes, I’ve had her for a long time now).

In case you haven’t seen it, Yuki is the main female star of the Haruhi movie, which was why her nendoroid was released first. Her standard out-of-the-box look includes her winter coat, a scarf, and a pair of glasses. Her coat sways to one side to make it look like it’s blowing in the wind, which has its upsides and down. It looks better than just a plain coat, but on the other hand, Yuki will always look like she’s out in the cold so people who like to pose their figures in little figure houses will be disappointed.

I’m not sure why her hair turned out blue in this picture. Either something is wrong with my camera/camera settings or my lighting (any photography experts out there, please help me). I had the same problem when taking pictures of Remilia, and noticed that one time a picture I took of a fire came out with purple flames rather than orange.

The scarf extends behind Yuki on both sides, adding to the impression that she’s out in the cold, but it can be easily removed by popping off the head. The hood and buttons on the back of her coat don’t stand out much, but make the nendoroid seem so much more detailed.

The downside about the coat is that there’s only one position for Yuki’s arms. The joint is designed in such a way that you can only move her forearms a few degrees sideways. Just about the only thing you can do with them is switch the hands. Here I’ve switched one of her closed hands for the one used to hold a piece of paper. I thought it was a bit small compared to her other hands, but at least it fits and you can pose Yuki trying to hide her face with the piece of paper.

The only real details on the front of Yuki’s coat are the three buttons. They’re rather large, which helps with the chibi look, and except for a small splotch above the middle one, I thought they looked nice.

Yuki also comes with her school uniform and cardigan, something more familiar for people who haven’t seen the movie. You’ll notice that she can hold the piece of paper from the side too. I’m guessing it’s supposed to be that club sign-up sheet she handed Kyon in the movie, with with no writing (not even any scribbles) on it, there’s  no telling what it is.

This pose looks so not Yuki-like (both the alien and normal Yuki), which was why I took a picture of it. The scratches on her cardigan are actually from me being rough trying to get pieces on and off. While I like her school unifrom body as much as her coat body, I’m a little disappointed that you can’t do anything with her left arm. Sure you can take it off, but there is no extra arm piece for different poses.

I should mention that Yuki comes with two pairs of glasses. One pair is designed to fit on her by attaching to the sides of her hair. The other pair is meant to be held by one of her other hands. Personally, I think the second pair of glasses looks way too big for Yuki’s nendo body even though they’re the same size as the worn glasses.

Enough with the accessories and poses though, lets take a look at some of the fine details. The school emblem on Yuki’s unifrom is nicely painted with extremely smooth lines, you usually don’t find something this intricate done very well when it comes to nendoroids. With that said, it seems GSC focused their efforts on the emblem and ignored the other parts. The red stripes on top of the aqua is rather sloppy and has some rough edges. There are also some blue splotches on Yuki’s neck.

If you look above the belt and below the red bow, you’ll also notice there’s a space between Yuki’s top half and bottom half. I tried pressing the two pieces together as much as I could, but they wouldn’t fit together perfectly. It’s rather disappointing because if you take a look at the previous pictures, that gap is pretty apparent.

The back of Yuki’s uniform also has a problem with the paint job. You can see that some of the aqua paint has gotten onto her cardigan. GSC’s paint jobs seem to be a hit and miss when it comes to nendoroids. On the bright side, the details in the sculpting (like the bottom part of Yuki’s cardigan) are well done.

I have mixed feelings about this figure after taking a look at all of the different parts. Yuki’s faces cover the expressions that you see in the movie and allow you to put on and take off her glasses, so that’s a good point. The coat body looks great and has a great pose, but is limited to that pose since the arms are practically stuck in place and there are no extra legs. The uniform body offers a bit more pose-ability but suffers from a poor paint job.

I guess in the end it depends on whether you want to display her in her coat or uniform. If you like the coat, and the pose it’s in, then by all means buy the figure. If you want to pose her in her uniform, then you might want to reconsider because of the paint problems.

Volume 15 of Nyantype came out a while ago, but I haven’t had time to get around to it until now. The cover features the adorable Nymph from Sora no Otoshimono. The posters this time around cover characters from series from both last season and the current season. As always, ecchi images are linked and not directly displayed.

This poster reminds me of the sushi on a geisha stereotype that I always hear about, but instead of sushi it’s a lobster.

Nanoha looks rather mature in this poster even though she’s in her loli form. The pose is excellent, and I love how her hair is blowing gently in the wind.

There seem to be quite a few Subaru posters in Nyantype recently. I’m a bit upset because she’s actually my least favourite character in the Nanoha world.

I think I prefer Haruhi with a ponytail, she looks so much more athletic like that.

I’ve recently started watching Strike Witches (the first season) and I’m actually enjoying it right now. Sanya is one of my favourite characters so far, so I’m happy to have this poster.

The colour of Haruna’s clothing in this picture and the background really don’t match the anime. There should be more pink and blue, and less orange and green.

Which way is Erika’s knee facing? I thought this poster looked nice at first, but upon closer inspection, there seems to be some flaws.

I think Nyantype had a really good concept here with Sora standing in the water under the stars, but there’s simply way too much black in the background. If there were more stars or something visible behind Sora, I think it’d be perfect.

This is probably one of the very few non-sitting Amagami SS posters out there. It’s rather cute with her holding the bun in her mouth and doing the cat pose.

I was impressed with how well-drawn Mio and Yuno fit in with the blowing leaves, but once again the hands seem too small for their body size.

I love Elsea’s kimono in this poster, it’s absolutely beautiful, and the pose combined with the background looks like she’s trying to invite people to Japan.

I don’t know if anyone else feels the same way, but I thought this poster felt really 60′s with the funky colours and a rebellious-looking Panty and Stocking.

I guess this is what will happen when Ika Musume’s invasion turns out to be a success.

The mecha girl this time around is Ikaros. The angel wings combined with the mech parts looks really cool in my opinion.

This time you also get a free Chaos card which is kept in a paper envelope.

On the back of the magazine is an ad for Dragon Crisis, which I must say has been a big disappointment for me.

Also included with this volume was a little cardboard box containing a bunny-girl calendar for 2011. I had an extremely hard time unrolling it, but here is the result:

My favourite page is the last one with Tsumugi from K-ON! She looks so cute with a bunny outfit on.

Out of all of the posters, my favourite is definitely the one with Elsea, followed by the Type Moon poster. The others were pretty good, with a few needing some improvements.

I’d like to announce now that this is my last Nyantype Magazine post (at least temporarily). The reasons are because: I don’t feel there is a need to collect two bishoujo magazines and I have a slight preference for Megami, my bookshelf is filling up with monthly subscriptions which I will eventually need to get rid of, and I needed to redirect money from something to buy some art books that I wanted. Megami updates will still be around, as well as new artbooks if you guys are interested in taking a peek at them.

It seems I forgot to write about Megami Magazine Vol. 128 last month, so this will be the first of 2 Megami posts this week. As with a large portion of Megami volumes past, Nanoha has once again invaded the cover of the magazine. The occasion this time is the announcement of Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A’s The Movie 2nd. Since I enjoyed the first movie, and I think the A’s series is better than the original, I’m really looking forward to the second movie.

The posters in the volume has a mix of characters from both the previous 2010 fall season and the current 2011 winter season. I was quite happy with the selection. Ecchi (ages 15+) images are linked, click at your own discretion.

I’ve been following the “A Certain” series since the first episode of Index and while I still don’t see where it’s going, but at least they know how to appeal to male audiences. This poster is based off the daihaisei arc where all of the girls were either in cheerleader uniforms or track clothes.

I think Megami came out with this Christmas-themed poster a bit too late, but it’s still nice. The stars and presents are a good way of making what would’ve been a bland fanservice image to a more cheerful one.

An obligatory shower scene. I’ve never noticed this before, but Megami actually does a nice job making steam.

I thought this was a rather cute poster, especially for Elsea fans. I love the heart and the chibi characters on the sides.

I thought K-ON was dead, but now that there’s more coming, it looks like Azunyan and friends will be getting more posters in the future. The one strange thing I found with this poster was that the water below Azusa’s hands is still moving up even though Azusa’s hands have stopped.

Now that I know what Puella Magi Madoka Magica is about, it’s actually kinda weird seeing happy images like this one. Having a poster with the 4 main girls in costume is nice though, especially since it’s technically impossible in the anime at the moment.

The impression that I’m getting from Amagami SS posters like this one is that it’s a boring anime. All of the posters each have a girl sitting there (most of the time in a swimsuit). There are no cool poses or fancy backgrounds.

Megami does a good job with the “accidently walked in while changing” poses. I think the facial expressions fit the characters’ personalities very well.

Here was another cute poster. Ika musume surprisingly always keeps things family-friendly despite what tentacles are usually associated with in anime.

I thought this Milky Holmes poster was rather amusing. In case you didn’t know, in anime, characters always smash open a watermelon at the beach while blindfolded; and Henriette is wearing a watermelon patterened bikini ^.^

This volume of Girl’s Avenue features the work of Sato Satoru (さとーさとる). I think the characters he draws look like what you would expect for anme, but the amount of detail put into the clothing and accessories makes his illustrations stand out much more.

I was hoping for a Fortune Arterial poster showing Erica with her vampire eyes, but this is a hot alternative.

I can’t say that the first episode of Infinite Stratos impressed me, but this poster looks awesome. The cool mech parts and the cute girls makes me want to give the anime a second shot.

I actually really liked this Strike Witches poster, it manages to be cute and hot without being ecchi.

I don’t understand what’s happening here, but you can’t go wrong with Haruhi, Yuki, and Mikuru in swimsuits.

This just looks super unnatural.

I see a lot of ads for To Heart in Megami, but I wonder how many people still watch it. I stopped after TH~RMM~.

Included in this volume was a mini illustration collection based on Nanoha StrikerS.

Most of the imags have appeared before so there isn’t much that’s new. The booklet itself had some kind of special binding that lets you open it wide open and not worry about the pages falling out. Megami uses the same binding for their full illustration collections, which I will get around to reviewing sometime soon (hopefully).

Normally an illustration booklet will cancel out the poster that’s usually included, but not this time. On the first side are Nanoha and Fate in plain clothes from the Nanoha movie.

On the reverse is Hayate and her gang enjoying some time at the beach.

Overall I thought this volume was a bit heavy on the ecchi content, but there were some cute ones that were worth taking a look at. My favourite posters are the IS one and the one illustrated by Sato Satoru. The inclusion of both an illustration booklet and large poster makes this volume tempting for Nanoha fans. So if you like Nanoha and enjoy your ecchi, then you might want to pick up this volume.

It looks like I’m behind on magazine posts again, so it’s time to catch up. Volume 14 of Nyantype Magazine is very Nanoha-centric as you can probably guess from the cover page. This is mainly because this volume came out around the time the Nanoha movie came out on BD/DVD. As with my previous magazine post, very ecchi images will be linked. By clicking on them, I hold no responsibility if your boss/coworker/friend/lover/parent peeks over your shoulder.

Since Nanoha is the main theme of this volume, it’s only natural that they’d start off with a Nanoha poster. I love the details and colouring in this one, but I wonder why Suzuka is wearing a school swimsuit when Nanoha and Alisa are wearing regular swimsuits.

I’m not a fan of Japanese school gym clothes, but if you are, then you might like this Index II poster.

For those of you who didn’t watch MM!, Noa is actually older than she looks.

I was impressed that they actually drew in some buildings along the coast. Usually these kinds of posters have a beach and sky or water and not much else.

I loved this poster, Kirino cosplaying as her favourite character, Meruru. It has a great dynamic pose and the background makes if feel really magical girly.

I actually like the angels better, but this poster of Scanty and Kneesocks really captures the main parts of their transformation scene.

The girls from Milky Holmes wishing you a belated Merry Christmas. I actually found this poster to be quite cute despite not liking Milky Holmes at all.

Erika was my favourite character in Fortune Arterial so I’m happy to have more posters of her, but I wish they had gone with something less standard and more creative.

It looks like they’ve gone back to plain poses for Amagami SS posters.

This was a cute poster, almost reminds me of Bungaku Shoujo when Touko was sitting under the tree.

I find these kinds of posters interesting, where you have some objects out of focus in order to show that they’re moving, or in this case falling. Yuki’s face looks a bit too moe-blobish to me though.

This poster made me laugh, Wako cosplaying as Tauburn! There’s even glittery things all around her.

This volume’s mecha musume is none other than the squid girl. It’s kinda weird turning an anthropomorph into a mecha girl, but at least she looks cool. I’m sure her many tentacles each control a tentacle on the suit.

On the back of the magazine is a reminder of the Yosuga no Sora release dates. If I like the ending, I’m thinking of picking up the DVDs.

As with most volumes, this one came with a B2 sized poster. It’s a bit unconventional since it has Nanoha on both sides, but it’s great for Nanoha fans. I prefer the second side since it has her from all of the different series.

Inside was a double-sided pillow case. The two sides make one continous image, which is a bit weird because you basically pick either to sleep on boobs or panties…

This volume of Nyantype was certainly of a higher quality than some of the previous volumes. Except for that one poster with the weird legs, I did not notice any other deformed body parts. The posters were also more detailed than usual, and more dynamic. My favourites were the one of Kirino from Oreimo and the one of Wako from Star Driver.

Nyantype Magazine vol. 8 was released at the end of May. I picked up this particular copy while I was in Japan in June. It was nice to actually only pay the price listed on the magazine for once. Dishing out 780 yen for Nyantype makes it seem so much more worth it when you normally pay $20, which includes currency conversion and shipping costs. The front cover features Nozomi from the anime Mayoi Neko Overrun. There’s also a little window in the cover offering a sneak peak into something special that they included, but more on that later.

While I have been growing tired of all the Nanoha posters from both Nyantype and Megami, I actually liked this one. It seems really shiny for some reason.

Here’s one of Yui and Azusa from K-ON. I liked how the grass was drawn so that you could see individual blades, but they don’t take your attention away from the two characters.

I don’t watch Strike Witches so I don’t know what these two are doing, but it looks like they’re dancing or something.

I watched a few episodes of Heroman when it came out, the way they portrayed America is so different from American superhero cartoons. It’s usually a dark place where villians run free and it’s up to the hero to save the day. In Heroman, it seems a lot more peaceful, and the main character is a bit girly as you can see in this  poster.

This was a cute poster. While I still haven’t seen the Haruhi movie, I’ve heard that Nagato and Asakura are best friends in it.

The maid outfits and poses were really well-drawn in this poster. Things aren’t always what they seem though. If you haven’t watched Kaichou wa Maid-sama, then you might not be aware that Aoi-chan (on the left) is actually a guy.

This was a rather simple poster. Nyantype seems to like spilling various liquids on girls.

I’m not a fan of Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan, but this poster of Chizuru is good for Nyantype’s standards. The background is nice and everything about Chizuru is good except her legs. They’re longer than they should be and her knees look like blocks.

I’ve seen some of these banana floaty things before and they look fun to ride. I prefer Riko’s hair in a ponytail rather in twintails.

This isn’t a poster, but it’s included in the back of the magazine. It’s a mecha musume or mobile suit girl version of Nagato from Haruhi. This illustration was done by Mika Akitaka, who has done mecha designs for various anime and even has an artbook of mobile suit girls.

Now on to that special item that was seen through the window on the front cover. As you can see, it’s one of those holographic cards that change images as you view it from different angles. It features Ako and Riko from Kissxsis in their school uniforms.

As you change the angle, the image changes to show them undressing. I just showed the first two images here, but if you want to see them go all the way, check out the hidden images.

Image 11 looks cool, and I liked 14 because it has Yukina from Senkou no Night Raid.

I can’t say I noticed many drawing mistakes in this volume, and it had a good variety of posters to look at. The mecha musume included in the back and the holographic card were both cool. This volume was certainly worth the 780 yen I spent on it.

Moving on with my magazine posts, here’s the seventh volume of Nyantype Magazine. This one was released at the end of April this year, just a month after volume 6. Nyantype originally went with bi-monthly releases, but now they’ve switched over to monthly releases like Megami Magazine. The cover features Ako and Riko from Kissxsis sharing a popsicle. I’m starting to think someone over at the Nyantype offices really likes the Kissxsis series. Now on to the posters:

I didn’t recognize Nanoha at first since I’m so used to seeing her with her hair tied up. This was a funny poster because of Yuuno’s expression in the corner there. For those of you who don’t know, Yuuno is actually a boy that can turn into a ferret.

More Kissxsis for all the Ako + Riko fans out there.

I still haven’t identified where these two characters are from. They were in the previous volume of Nyantype too. At least this time we don’t have any backwards limbs.

The K-ON girls seem to have gotten more fashionable in the second season of the series. I like the striped shirts and Mugi’s hairstyle.

I like the character designs in Mayoi Neko Overrun, but I just wasn’t too fond of this poster. Seems the main purpose of this one was to show off some panties, and they left out my favourite character, Chise.

This poster seems a bit simplistic at first, but I guess it’s meant to give off that slice-of-life feel.

I was beginning to think that there might not be any exceptional posters in this volume when I opened up this page. I just love how everything is blowing in the wind, and this image really captures the characters’ personalities in my opinion.

This Strike Witches poster follows along the same lines as the previous Railgun poster. Once again, I like the blowing in the wind look, and it has a fitting background too. It would be perfect if only Lynette’s legs didn’t look like they disappeared below her knees.

I don’t recognize who this is or what anime she’s from, but I really hope her toes aren’t normally that long.

I thought this poster of Yukina from Senkou no Night Raid was lovely. Chinese dresses always look good, and the cherry blossom petals make this scene look even better. Whoever Nyantype hired to do all these blowing in the wind images is really doing a good job.

There have been quite a few images with Haruhi and Yuki in them, I wonder what happened to Mikuru.

Here’s one last fanservice shot to finish things off. While technically ecchi, I didn’t hide it because you could go to the beach and see more. I’m not sure why Yamada took off her top though.

Included with this volume was a little booklet celebrating Nyantype Magazine’s first anniversary. It doesn’t feel like that long ago that Nyantype came out so I’m surprised it’s already been a whole year.

Inside the booklet were some images taken from posters in previous volumes. There isn’t anything that I haven’t already seen, but it was nice to have so many of the nicer ones all in one place.

The back cover once again features Kissxsis with a reminder about the first Blu-ray and DVD release.

Out of all the posters in this volume, the three “wind” posters were by far the best. The other posters were average, but at least there weren’t any terrible ones in here.

The sixth volume of Nyantype Magazine came out way back before the previous season started so you’ll see a bunch of posters from older series in here. The cover features both Yui and Mio from K-ON, no surprise considering they’re probably the two most popular characters in the series. In the corner you’ll also see a little preview of the freebie that came with this volume, but more on that after taking a look at some of the posters.

I still haven’t watched the first Nanoha movie so it’s still weird for me to see Hayate grown up, but Fate and Nanoha still in their loli forms. It seems Hayate has also grown some furry ears and a tail?

The reverse side has Nagato looking pretty helpless. Personally, I thought Nagato was better as an alien rather than a quiet girl that likes her books.

I thought the artwork in this poster was nicely done. The proportions of the characters looks right, and I like the background. The only thing I see wrong with it is that the illustrator forgot that water refracts light. I’m not sure what series this is from though, so if you can identify it, thanks in advance.

If you haven’t seen Ookami Kakushi, this poster is supposed to be from the scene where Nemuru was tied up to prevent her from attacking the main guy (I forgot his name). I don’t know why they drew the knife right at her feet, but otherwise I like the dark atmosphere that this poster has.

This poster is similar to the one of Nemuru, but I don’t really like it as much. It isn’t as detailed as the previous one and the reddish tint makes it look a bit weird to me.

I remember doing an exercise like this in school, except we didn’t lift each other off the ground that high.

I’m not too fond of the moe-blob look anymore so I didn’t particularly like this poster, but it is decent.

I was impressed with this poster. You don’t usually see Nyantype come out with something this detailed, and as far as I can tell there isn’t any major flaws with it. The poster feels like an explosion of rainbowy gumdrops, but I’m assuming that’s what Pretty Cure is like.

Apparently there’s some kind of game where you pull a girl’s sash and maker her spin around. I think that’s what Kuroko is trying to do here, but she’d better be ready for a shock.

The characters in Hanamaru Kindergarten are cute, but the teacher looks so out of place here.

If any of you have read the yuri manga “Girlfriends”, you’ll probably know what I thought when I saw this poster. While it is a poster of Miyako and Yuno from Hidamari Sketch, they bear a striking resemblance to Akko and Mari from Girlfriends. It’s not only their hairstyles, but also their style of clothing and who’s on top.

A bit of Nyantype’s problem with distorted body parts is starting to show in this Ikki Tousen poster. While no limbs look like they’re broken, some of them seem to be at some rather uncomfortable angles.

Can’t say I liked Chu-Bra, but using lace patterns in the background here was a nice touch.

This Kissxsis poster seems to have less of a problem with distorted limbs. I knew the show was about a guy with a sister complex (or was it the other way around?), but there seems to be a lot of sister on sister posters in both Nyantype and Megami.

So in case you were wondering what that image in the corner of the cover was, here it is. For lack of a better word, I’m just going to call it a doll. You get this blank plastic doll  which you can stick stickers on to make into your favourite K-ON band member. The only problem is that you only get one of these dolls and there are 5 members. While you could use both sides of the doll, that still leaves out 3 of the girls. Nyantype really should have included more of these with their magazine.

I thought the back cover had an interesting illustration. It looks like parts of the page were ripped out to reveal part of an image underneath, but it’s really just one unripped page.

The quality of images used in Nyantype’s posters seems to be getting better, but they’re still not quite at the same level as Megami. It’s still nice to have them available though.

Since a lot of people have asked for more Magazine coverage, I will be reviewing more of them this month. This time I will be covering Megami Magazine volume 121 from June of this year. The cover features Mahiru from Working!! holding up cute chibi versions of Poplar and Aoi. Now for the posters:

The first poster is of Yui and Ui. It looks like Ui is busy preparing lunch, but Yui couldn’t resist taking not taking a bite.

Here’s another Working!! image, with the focus being on Mahiru again.

This poster brought back some memories, mainly of the episode in Mayoi Neko Overrun when they had the swimsuit competition.

I don’t remember Haruhi and Nagato ever cosplaying as cops in the anime. The police probably don’t actually wear skirts like that though, so they might actually be cosplaying as security guards or something. Either way, I like it.

After the previous volume, it seems they’ve gone back to girls lacking clothes when it comes to Ikki Tousen posters, like this one of Sonsaku.

One thing that I’ve noticed about anime is that baths sometimes have green water. I think they do that because it’s hard to draw clear water, but I could be wrong. Maybe they do bathe in green water in Japan, who knows.

This looks more like a promotional poster without the text. It actually doesn’t look that good without any sort of real background.

This amazing piece of art was done by Bun+Bun. I love the little glowy lights and how the shadows look in this poster. The only thing I would complain about is the foot of the girl in front, it’s a bit too small to look right.

Here’s a poster of Tomo from Seikon no Qwaser.

I only recognize this poster being from Bungaku Shoujo because Touko is in it. I’m not sure who the other girl is, but I’m assuming she was in the movie. Her spikey hair looks kinda cool.

I never got into Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou, it seemed like a regular harem series to me. The shading in this poster seems to be a bit weird to me, kinda like a mix of pastels and digital colours.

I’ve been meaning to watch Strike Witches for the longest time, but I just never got around to it. I have to admit, the characters do look pretty cute.

As expected, Nanoha is in this volume as with every other volume. Nanoha and Fate look nice in this illustration, but I wish they’d gone with a battle pose instead.

This is the same image that was used on the cover of the magazine, but without the text. I’m not too fond of the background, but at least now Poplar isn’t half covered up by something.

Illustrations like this are hard to draw, so I’m impressed with whoever did it. Except for a few things that look a bit awkward like Mizuki’s right arm and Akira’s right leg, everything looks right to me.

This volume came with a little booklet with some details about the Nanoha movie.

All of the screenshots that they had inside just makes me want to see it even more. I hope it comes out on DVD soon since I can’t watch it in theatres here.

Seeing this large poster brought back some memories. For those of you who don’t know, Nanoha was originally a side-character from a series called Triangle Hearts. I watched Triangle Heart – Sweet Songs Forever a long time ago and really enjoyed it. Nanoha made a brief appearance in the cafe that her family runs called Midori-ya (which you can see on her apron).

The image for this poster looks like something from a dakimakura. It’s cute though, and not too ecchi.

I didn’t think this volume was anything too impressive. There were some good posters in here, but most of them were dull or just lacking in anything special. In my opinion, the best poster was the one by Bun+Bun.
