Momoka’s Future Death Diary

January 12, 2012 By: Nopy Category: Anime, Random Wonderings

A while back, I was compiling a list of the most powerful books in anime. I didn’t get very far because quite frankly, there aren’t many popular examples. Instead, I had another fun idea: who in the world would be most suited or likely to possess the most powerful books in anime? A few days later, a huge news story swept the Korean peninsula: Kim Jong-il dead from a heart attack. For one of the most popular (not in a good way) villans of our time to die of a simple heart attack sounded suspicious to me… like something out of Death Note, wouldn’t you say?

If you haven’t heard of a Death Note before, see the below image for a run-down of how it works:

10 Shocking and Affective Deaths in Anime

July 25, 2011 By: Nopy Category: Anime

One of the things that I like about anime that is largely absent in western cartoons (or it was when I was a kid), is that it’s not afraid to kill off a character in order to drive the story. Sometimes these deaths make viewers cry, other times they create mobs of angry fans. Either way, they completely draw in the attention and bring out the emotions of any viewer, ensuring the series will always have people to remember it. Here are just 10 deaths which I thought were excellently done and helped make the series. The videos are the closest I could find of the actual scenes.

Note: I think this is obvious, but spoilers are below. If you haven’t seen but intend to see Mai-Hime, Death Note, Evangelion, Madoka, Nadesico, Gurren Lagann, Clannad After Story, Katanagatari, Code Geass, or Kodomo no Jikan and don’t want to be spoiled, don’t scroll down. Also, before anyone asks “where’s Spike?” I have yet to finish Cowboy Bebop.

Nendoroid L Dies Again :(

January 06, 2009 By: Nopy Category: Figures

Several months ago, my Nendoroid L figure fell off its shelf and snapped its neck as shown above. I suspect Nendoroid Light shoved him off since they were beside each other >.>
Anyways, I was able to fix it back then using some super glue and applying it so that only the broken neck piece was glued. Any excess glue on the body or head would’ve been bad because then I wouldn’t be able to change his expression anymore. Recently though, I’m sad to say that L snapped his neck again, and it was by my own hands :( (more…)
