Volume 15 of Nyantype came out a while ago, but I haven’t had time to get around to it until now. The cover features the adorable Nymph from Sora no Otoshimono. The posters this time around cover characters from series from both last season and the current season. As always, ecchi images are linked and not directly displayed.

This poster reminds me of the sushi on a geisha stereotype that I always hear about, but instead of sushi it’s a lobster.

Nanoha looks rather mature in this poster even though she’s in her loli form. The pose is excellent, and I love how her hair is blowing gently in the wind.

There seem to be quite a few Subaru posters in Nyantype recently. I’m a bit upset because she’s actually my least favourite character in the Nanoha world.

I think I prefer Haruhi with a ponytail, she looks so much more athletic like that.

I’ve recently started watching Strike Witches (the first season) and I’m actually enjoying it right now. Sanya is one of my favourite characters so far, so I’m happy to have this poster.

The colour of Haruna’s clothing in this picture and the background really don’t match the anime. There should be more pink and blue, and less orange and green.

Which way is Erika’s knee facing? I thought this poster looked nice at first, but upon closer inspection, there seems to be some flaws.

This was a rather bright and fun poster with some of the characters from Type Moon series.

I think Nyantype had a really good concept here with Sora standing in the water under the stars, but there’s simply way too much black in the background. If there were more stars or something visible behind Sora, I think it’d be perfect.

This is probably one of the very few non-sitting Amagami SS posters out there. It’s rather cute with her holding the bun in her mouth and doing the cat pose.

I was impressed with how well-drawn Mio and Yuno fit in with the blowing leaves, but once again the hands seem too small for their body size.

Another cute poster, but also really pretty.

I love Elsea’s kimono in this poster, it’s absolutely beautiful, and the pose combined with the background looks like she’s trying to invite people to Japan.

I don’t know if anyone else feels the same way, but I thought this poster felt really 60′s with the funky colours and a rebellious-looking Panty and Stocking.

I guess this is what will happen when Ika Musume’s invasion turns out to be a success.

The mecha girl this time around is Ikaros. The angel wings combined with the mech parts looks really cool in my opinion.

This time you also get a free Chaos card which is kept in a paper envelope.

On the back of the magazine is an ad for Dragon Crisis, which I must say has been a big disappointment for me.

Also included with this volume was a little cardboard box containing a bunny-girl calendar for 2011. I had an extremely hard time unrolling it, but here is the result:

My favourite page is the last one with Tsumugi from K-ON! She looks so cute with a bunny outfit on.

Out of all of the posters, my favourite is definitely the one with Elsea, followed by the Type Moon poster. The others were pretty good, with a few needing some improvements.

I’d like to announce now that this is my last Nyantype Magazine post (at least temporarily). The reasons are because: I don’t feel there is a need to collect two bishoujo magazines and I have a slight preference for Megami, my bookshelf is filling up with monthly subscriptions which I will eventually need to get rid of, and I needed to redirect money from something to buy some art books that I wanted. Megami updates will still be around, as well as new artbooks if you guys are interested in taking a peek at them.

It looks like I’m behind on magazine posts again, so it’s time to catch up. Volume 14 of Nyantype Magazine is very Nanoha-centric as you can probably guess from the cover page. This is mainly because this volume came out around the time the Nanoha movie came out on BD/DVD. As with my previous magazine post, very ecchi images will be linked. By clicking on them, I hold no responsibility if your boss/coworker/friend/lover/parent peeks over your shoulder.

Since Nanoha is the main theme of this volume, it’s only natural that they’d start off with a Nanoha poster. I love the details and colouring in this one, but I wonder why Suzuka is wearing a school swimsuit when Nanoha and Alisa are wearing regular swimsuits.

I’m not a fan of Japanese school gym clothes, but if you are, then you might like this Index II poster.

I think this is from the Nanoha Force series. I hope she doesn’t actually look like that, or else she has some really weird legs, each one is almost the size of her belly.

I’m surprised this one iss a little more tame, just a few panty shots. I wonder if someone would actually dare to flip up a kotatsu cover when three girls wearing skirts are sitting around it.

I don’t think I’ll ever get around to watching Strike Witches at thsi point, but do they always steal each other’s panties?

For those of you who didn’t watch MM!, Noa is actually older than she looks.

I was impressed that they actually drew in some buildings along the coast. Usually these kinds of posters have a beach and sky or water and not much else.

I loved this poster, Kirino cosplaying as her favourite character, Meruru. It has a great dynamic pose and the background makes if feel really magical girly.

I actually like the angels better, but this poster of Scanty and Kneesocks really captures the main parts of their transformation scene.

The girls from Milky Holmes wishing you a belated Merry Christmas. I actually found this poster to be quite cute despite not liking Milky Holmes at all.

Erika was my favourite character in Fortune Arterial so I’m happy to have more posters of her, but I wish they had gone with something less standard and more creative.

It looks like they’ve gone back to plain poses for Amagami SS posters.

This was a cute poster, almost reminds me of Bungaku Shoujo when Touko was sitting under the tree.

I find these kinds of posters interesting, where you have some objects out of focus in order to show that they’re moving, or in this case falling. Yuki’s face looks a bit too moe-blobish to me though.

This poster made me laugh, Wako cosplaying as Tauburn! There’s even glittery things all around her.

This volume’s mecha musume is none other than the squid girl. It’s kinda weird turning an anthropomorph into a mecha girl, but at least she looks cool. I’m sure her many tentacles each control a tentacle on the suit.

On the back of the magazine is a reminder of the Yosuga no Sora release dates. If I like the ending, I’m thinking of picking up the DVDs.

As with most volumes, this one came with a B2 sized poster. It’s a bit unconventional since it has Nanoha on both sides, but it’s great for Nanoha fans. I prefer the second side since it has her from all of the different series.

This little box also came with the magazine.

Inside was a double-sided pillow case. The two sides make one continous image, which is a bit weird because you basically pick either to sleep on boobs or panties…

This volume of Nyantype was certainly of a higher quality than some of the previous volumes. Except for that one poster with the weird legs, I did not notice any other deformed body parts. The posters were also more detailed than usual, and more dynamic. My favourites were the one of Kirino from Oreimo and the one of Wako from Star Driver.

Misaka Mikoto (aka biribiri, railgun) from To Aru Majutsu no Index II and To Aru Kagaku no Railgun makes her first Nyantype cover appearance on volume 13. I’m a bit surprised that they didn’t go for a 4th Nanoha cover considering the Nanoha movie just came out on Blu-ray/DVD, but I guess having a third of your covers be from a single series would be too much.

The first pin-up poster in this volume is of Kuroko and Awaki, the main protagonist and antagonist of episodes 6-7 in To Aru Majutsu no Index II. Kuroko is my favourite character form the To Aru series so I was happy to see her get so much screentime in those two eps. I think this poster really portrayed the situation in the anime very well with Awaki having the upper hand (and scratch-free) while Kuroko is clearly limping and has bruises everywhere.

The Nanoha series seems just as popular with the Nyantype editors as the Megami editors. This was a pretty well-drawn image with hardly any noticeable mistakes.

Here’s an even better one, but of the grown up Erio and Caro, both from the Nanoha series. I particularly like how they added a white glow around the characters to make them stand out.

One thing that Nyantype seems to favour more than Megami is the “foot” pose. I guess they’re trying to attract the people who like feet.

I love the detail in this poster, from the individual straws in the tatami mat to Sora’s super long hair. The only thing I would change is the “Pockie” box, it looks a bit too short and fat.

I complained about Nyantype’s previous use of shadows and lighting, but it looks like they’ve done a better job this time. This K-ON poster really makes use of shadows to give the feel of a lazy sunny afternoon.

This was a surprisingly tame Strike Witches poster and they’re not stealing each others’ clothes o.o

I like the way they drew Elsea’s feather cloth in this poster, it looks like it’s actually floating a bit as it should. I also like the cute smile.

Yes! First Panty and Stocking poster, and it’s of the transformation scene. By my count, this series has 4 different forms of animation now so I’m glad Nyantype went with the best looking one for their first PSG poster. It’s also nice to see that there’s really no mess-ups in here either.

Most of the Fortune Arterial posters so far have used really vibrant colours, and it really helps to breathe some life into the image. You can see what I mean by comparing the less-vibrant poster below.

While the only thing that looks off here is Ika’s foot, the more dull colouring makes it seem poor in comparison to the Fortune Arterial poster.

I was hoping for more dynamic Amagami SS posters, and while I finally got one here, it doesn’t look quite right. I think her head is just a bit too high.

There’s something wrong in this picture…

I was expecting some Christmas/winter posters in this volume, but it looks like Nyantype is still stuck in swimsuit mode.

This is a cool Star Driver poster with some of the female members of the Glittering Crux. It’s kinda weird that they’re all illuminated from the bottom, but I guess that’s to make them look more evil.

This volume’s mecha girl is Misaka holding a railgun, kinda ironic isn’t it?

I kinda wish they had a poster of the image they used on the back of the magazine. Sora’s my favourite character from Yosuga no Sora, so more images of her are always welcome though, no matter what the form.

In this volume, rather than including the usual B2 poster, Nyantype decided to include the second Nanoha illustration collection. If you recall, Nyantype volume 3 also included an illustration collection.

After flipping through the contents, there wasn’t anything new to get excited about. All of the images in the collection have appeared in Nyantype before, either as posters, on freebies, or in the magazine content.

There were quite a few posters that I liked in this volume, including the Panty and Stocking poster, the one of Sora, the Fortune Arterial poster, and the one with Erio and Caro. The Nanoha illustration collection is also a nice extra if you’re a Nanoha fan and want to get a hold of some nice illustrations. The lack of anything Christmasy was disappointing though, hopefully they’ll have something in the next volume.

While Nyantype Magazine started out with rather poor quality pin-up posters, it seems that they’re finally starting to get the hang of it with some pretty decent ones in volume 12. The cover features Yoshika and Mio from Strike Witches.

One thing I love about Nyantype is that they always include one really big pin-up poster that is 3 pages long. On the first side is Yoshika again, but in a white one-piece this time.

The other side is Nanoha beach volleyball. Seems kinda out of place for the November issue, but it’s got a nice action shot :)

Another Nanoha poster. I love the new weapons that everyone has now, they look like mecha musume rather than mahou shoujo now.

Erika here is the only reason I’m still watching Fortune Arterial. How can you not like a character as cute as her?

Shukufuku no Campanella has seem to have found its way into the last couple of Megami and Nyantype magazine volumes lately. The anime doesn’t seem to be too popular, but I guess the character designs are good. It’s not my cup of tea though.

This K-ON poster would have been so much better if it weren’t for the poor lighting choice. Almost the entire poster is in a shadow, leaving a rather dull feel to the image.

Here’s your average swimsuit poster, nothing really to compliment on.

Nyantype and proportionally correct limbs don’t seem to get along too well. Shana’s right hand seems about twice as big as her left, but at least they didn’t put the thumbs on the wrong side (which I consider an improvement).

I’m really glad there was nothing wrong with this Yosuga no Sora poster. A well-animated show deserves to have well-drawn posters. I question whether skirts actually move up like that, but this is a bishoujo magazine so panties are a must.

Like I said…

That sun oil looks a lot like yellow slime to me, maybe that was the impression they were trying to give here.

It seems both Megami and Nyantype have rather plain and simple Amagami SS posters. The upside about that is that there’s very little room to screw up, meaning they all look decent.

I don’t even know what to think about the characters from Milky Holmes. Sometimes I think they’re 8, other times I think they’re 20, how do you tell? Anyways, this poster would’ve been nicer if they didn’t use such an ugly background. Instead, they should have just thrown in a beach.

Not a particularly interesting TWGOK poster, but at least it’s something for the fans.

In contrast to the overly shadowed K-ON poster earlier, Nyantype now has one where the characters are over-exposed (and I thought that was only something for photographers).

This is probably one of the few Sora no Otoshimono posters which isn’t overly ecchi. I like the character designs, but sometimes they take the fanservice a bit too far.

At the back of this volume they decided not only to turn a girl into a mecha musume, but they turned a mecha musume into and even more mecha musume. I think it’s kinda cool.

I’m still waiting for Sora’s arc in Yosuga no Sora. If you happen to live in Japan, you can catch the anime on the above channels.

Included in this volume was another one of these dust jacket things. I was a bit disappointed seeing as I don’t have anything to put in it.

The second extra item was a double-sided pencil board of Nanoha and Fate, both from the Force series.

For hidden images, read this post (numbers 13, 15). The Star Driver poster was nice, especially with the stars in the background. I really hope that fish girl comes back later in the series, I’m going to miss her stories.

While Nyantype’s image quality has improved, there’s still some areas that they need to work on as I’ve pointed out above. My favourite posters in this volume would be the ones of Yoshika, Erika, and the Star Driver poster. The K-ON and Ookami posters were really poor in comparison. It should be pretty simple to change the “lighting” on a digital image, yet they decided to leave these two the way they are, and they look terrible. At least there weren’t as many noticeable impossible limbs, the only exception being Shana’s hand.

While volume 10 had Fate on the cover of the magazine, volume 11 which came out at the end of August has Nanoha on the cover. You’d think that Nanoha would be first, but I guess they switched it around since Fate seems to be more popular. Like Fate, Nanoha doesn’t seem to have that innocent look anymore, though she doesn’t look quite as angry.

As with the previous volume, this one also has a sort of infographic for Nanoha. Her weapons look so much cooler now than they did in the past.

The good thing about Nyantype having 3-page foldouts is that you can get full-body shots like this one of Fate. She looks really cool in this poster with her barrier jacket on.

This volume is really Nanoha oreinted, I hope Nyantype doesn’t go overboard with the Nanoha stuff like Megami though.

I think this is the first Asobi ni Iku yo poster I’ve seen without an emphasis on Eris’s oppai. The heart-shape tails are cute.

I love Mio’s sense of fashion, it’s like she looks good no matter what she’s wearing.

Does anyone else see that sketch in the notepad? I wish I could draw like that.

Here’s a couple more  swimsuit posters before the summer ends. The light reflections in the water in the Shukufuku no Campanella poster make it look really nice.

I was happy to see that they put in a good Seitokai no Yakuindomo poster to make up for that horrible one they put in the previous one. This one looks high-quality enough to use as a promo poster; I especially love the blowing leaves, it reminds me of the wind posters in volume 7 of Nyantype.

This poster of Maya from Occult Academy looks ominous to say the least. It really fits in with the feel of the anime.

This is the first not-too-ecchi Sora no Otoshimono poster I’ve seen in a long time. I like all the shadows from the setting sun.

This thing was included with the magazine, but I’m not sure what it is. At first I thought it might be a coaster, but there’s a place where you can punch a hole in it.

There was also this, what I think is a book cover, inserted in the magazine.

On the back side are instructions on how to fold it.

The mecha musume this time around is Saeko from Highschool of The Dead. So far she’s been the only really useful female fighter in that show.

Image 10 is really provocative, but I’m sure Saeko fans will enjoy it a lot.

There was a big focus on Nanoha this time around, but there were some other good posters like the K-ON one and the Seitokai no Yakuindomo one. If anyone knows that that round thing that came with the magazine is, let me know :)

Nyantype Magazine Volume 10 was released at the end of July. They have Fate on the cover of the magazine, but she looks a lot meaner than I remember. I don’t know much about the Nanoha Force series, but from the looks of illustrations I’ve seen, the characters aren’t as cheerful as they used to be. This volume costs 880 yen which is 100 yen more than a regular volume, but I’ll talk more about that later.

The first poster in the magazine is more of an infographic than a poster. It shows Fate in various poses and the diferent forms that her weapon, Bardiche, can take on.

Hayate looks weird with this hairstyle, but it does make her look older. Reinforce still looks really young.

I liked Hayate’s outfit in this poster. Signum, on the other hand, looks like she’s going to the club rather than the beach. The planets in the sky also look cool.

There’s nothing spectacular about this poster of Index. I’m curious how she can sleep with her left arm twisted like that though. Then again, she could actually have a broken arm and just be lying there unconscious.

I thought it was cool how the girls from K-ON painted “keion” on themselves, it looks like something you’d see on a CD album cover.

When I saw this poster I just wanted to tear it out. Overall, Nyantype’s illustrations have been improving with time, but then they go and print something like this Seitokai Yakuindomo poster. Except for the “SYD” on the fan and the hairstyles, the characters are barely recognizable, especially Shiino. Some body parts are also the wrong size/shape which makes it look even weirder.

For a lolicon anime, I would’ve expected Mitsudomoe posters to be on the ecchi side, but this one is pretty innocent.

This is a simple but nice looking poster of Haruka from Amagami SS.

It’s really hard for me to comprehend how Nyantype can have something as terrible as that Seitokai Yakuindomo poster be in the same volume as a great poster like this one. There are no super-thin limbs or deformed hands here, the shading is good, and the textures are excellent.

Shouko fans would probably enjoy this poster.

The mecha musume at the back of this volume is Kanade (aka Tenshi) from Angel Beats. It would’ve been really cool if she made something like this for herself in the series. If you look at her blade thing, you’ll notice there’s even two little pilots inside it.

As I mentioned earlier, this volume cost 100 yen more than the usual magazine, and that was because of this box. I know Megami Magazine increases their prices whenever they include something extra, but I was hoping that Nyantype would stay with a flat price of 780 yen.

Inside the box was this pillow case of Sanya from Strike Witches. The pillow case is really soft, but a bit wrinkled from being inside the packaging for so long. On one side is Sanya’s top half.

On the other side is her bottom half. I found the pillow case to be really small as I couldn’t find any pillows that would fit inside without tearing it. So if you had this pillow case, which side would you sleep on?

As always, hidden images contain ecchi/provocative content. I found the Highschool of The Dead poster to be a bit strange. Why is it that Rei and Saya’s clothes are all torn from fighting zombies, but there isn’t a single scratch on them.

Despite that one poster that I didn’t like, this volume wasn’t too bad. My favourite posters were the one that had the girl in the forest, and the one of Hayate and Signum.

Volume 9 of Nyantype was released at the end of June and features Mio in her black bikini on the cover. Since this volume comes in the middle of summer, it’s full of swimsuit and summer-related posters as you can see below.

The first poster is of Subaru and Teana from the Nanoha series cooling down with some water. The use of see-through wet clothes is common in anime so I would’ve expected the artists at Nyantype to have been able to make this one look better. Some parts, like Subaru’s pants, look like they’re melting rather than just being wet.

I liked this Yuri + Kanade poster.

The first of the swimsuit posters has all the members of Houkago Tea Time on the beach.

Misaki from Kaichou wa Maid-sama seems to look cuter in these posters than in the anime. I like how they drew Sakura’s hand a bit larger to show distance, as well as the flowers in the back.

Here’s one for the Strike Witches fans out there.

I thought Mizuki looked weird with a tan. I also found it a bit strange that there’s a shadow of a palm tree, but Mizuki herself doesn’t have a shadow.

I really liked this poster. If you’ve been following my blog posts for a while, you’ll know I liked the character designs fro Mayoi Neko Overrun and that Chise was my favourite character. I’m glad to see Nyantype was able to keep the same artstyle here.

Seeing this Shana poster reminds me of how long I’ve been watching anime now. The season that Shakugan no Shana came out was the time when I started reading about anime before they aired, rather than just watch whatever people recommeneded. The thing I like about this poster is Shana’s wavy hair.

The Working!! girls seem to end up on the floor a lot when it comes to Nyantype posters. I guess it’s easy to draw floors for a poster, but do they actually fall down a lot in the anime too?

Included with this volume was a CD with some of the seiyuu from Strike Witches. I don’t know Japanese so I can’t tell you what’s on it.

I wasn’t too impressed with the hidden images, they were all focused on fanservice.

If you like having swimsuit or summer-related posters, then this volume of Nyantype would be a good magazine to pick up. It snowed for a bit the other day so I know a lot of people here are wishing for summer to come back.

Nyantype Magazine vol. 8 was released at the end of May. I picked up this particular copy while I was in Japan in June. It was nice to actually only pay the price listed on the magazine for once. Dishing out 780 yen for Nyantype makes it seem so much more worth it when you normally pay $20, which includes currency conversion and shipping costs. The front cover features Nozomi from the anime Mayoi Neko Overrun. There’s also a little window in the cover offering a sneak peak into something special that they included, but more on that later.

While I have been growing tired of all the Nanoha posters from both Nyantype and Megami, I actually liked this one. It seems really shiny for some reason.

Here’s one of Yui and Azusa from K-ON. I liked how the grass was drawn so that you could see individual blades, but they don’t take your attention away from the two characters.

I don’t watch Strike Witches so I don’t know what these two are doing, but it looks like they’re dancing or something.

I watched a few episodes of Heroman when it came out, the way they portrayed America is so different from American superhero cartoons. It’s usually a dark place where villians run free and it’s up to the hero to save the day. In Heroman, it seems a lot more peaceful, and the main character is a bit girly as you can see in this  poster.

This was a cute poster. While I still haven’t seen the Haruhi movie, I’ve heard that Nagato and Asakura are best friends in it.

The maid outfits and poses were really well-drawn in this poster. Things aren’t always what they seem though. If you haven’t watched Kaichou wa Maid-sama, then you might not be aware that Aoi-chan (on the left) is actually a guy.

This was a rather simple poster. Nyantype seems to like spilling various liquids on girls.

I’m not a fan of Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan, but this poster of Chizuru is good for Nyantype’s standards. The background is nice and everything about Chizuru is good except her legs. They’re longer than they should be and her knees look like blocks.

I’ve seen some of these banana floaty things before and they look fun to ride. I prefer Riko’s hair in a ponytail rather in twintails.

This isn’t a poster, but it’s included in the back of the magazine. It’s a mecha musume or mobile suit girl version of Nagato from Haruhi. This illustration was done by Mika Akitaka, who has done mecha designs for various anime and even has an artbook of mobile suit girls.

Now on to that special item that was seen through the window on the front cover. As you can see, it’s one of those holographic cards that change images as you view it from different angles. It features Ako and Riko from Kissxsis in their school uniforms.

As you change the angle, the image changes to show them undressing. I just showed the first two images here, but if you want to see them go all the way, check out the hidden images.

Image 11 looks cool, and I liked 14 because it has Yukina from Senkou no Night Raid.

I can’t say I noticed many drawing mistakes in this volume, and it had a good variety of posters to look at. The mecha musume included in the back and the holographic card were both cool. This volume was certainly worth the 780 yen I spent on it.

Moving on with my magazine posts, here’s the seventh volume of Nyantype Magazine. This one was released at the end of April this year, just a month after volume 6. Nyantype originally went with bi-monthly releases, but now they’ve switched over to monthly releases like Megami Magazine. The cover features Ako and Riko from Kissxsis sharing a popsicle. I’m starting to think someone over at the Nyantype offices really likes the Kissxsis series. Now on to the posters:

I didn’t recognize Nanoha at first since I’m so used to seeing her with her hair tied up. This was a funny poster because of Yuuno’s expression in the corner there. For those of you who don’t know, Yuuno is actually a boy that can turn into a ferret.

More Kissxsis for all the Ako + Riko fans out there.

I still haven’t identified where these two characters are from. They were in the previous volume of Nyantype too. At least this time we don’t have any backwards limbs.

The K-ON girls seem to have gotten more fashionable in the second season of the series. I like the striped shirts and Mugi’s hairstyle.

I like the character designs in Mayoi Neko Overrun, but I just wasn’t too fond of this poster. Seems the main purpose of this one was to show off some panties, and they left out my favourite character, Chise.

This poster seems a bit simplistic at first, but I guess it’s meant to give off that slice-of-life feel.

I was beginning to think that there might not be any exceptional posters in this volume when I opened up this page. I just love how everything is blowing in the wind, and this image really captures the characters’ personalities in my opinion.

This Strike Witches poster follows along the same lines as the previous Railgun poster. Once again, I like the blowing in the wind look, and it has a fitting background too. It would be perfect if only Lynette’s legs didn’t look like they disappeared below her knees.

I don’t recognize who this is or what anime she’s from, but I really hope her toes aren’t normally that long.

I thought this poster of Yukina from Senkou no Night Raid was lovely. Chinese dresses always look good, and the cherry blossom petals make this scene look even better. Whoever Nyantype hired to do all these blowing in the wind images is really doing a good job.

There have been quite a few images with Haruhi and Yuki in them, I wonder what happened to Mikuru.

Here’s one last fanservice shot to finish things off. While technically ecchi, I didn’t hide it because you could go to the beach and see more. I’m not sure why Yamada took off her top though.

Included with this volume was a little booklet celebrating Nyantype Magazine’s first anniversary. It doesn’t feel like that long ago that Nyantype came out so I’m surprised it’s already been a whole year.

Inside the booklet were some images taken from posters in previous volumes. There isn’t anything that I haven’t already seen, but it was nice to have so many of the nicer ones all in one place.

The back cover once again features Kissxsis with a reminder about the first Blu-ray and DVD release.

Out of all the posters in this volume, the three “wind” posters were by far the best. The other posters were average, but at least there weren’t any terrible ones in here.

The sixth volume of Nyantype Magazine came out way back before the previous season started so you’ll see a bunch of posters from older series in here. The cover features both Yui and Mio from K-ON, no surprise considering they’re probably the two most popular characters in the series. In the corner you’ll also see a little preview of the freebie that came with this volume, but more on that after taking a look at some of the posters.

I still haven’t watched the first Nanoha movie so it’s still weird for me to see Hayate grown up, but Fate and Nanoha still in their loli forms. It seems Hayate has also grown some furry ears and a tail?

The reverse side has Nagato looking pretty helpless. Personally, I thought Nagato was better as an alien rather than a quiet girl that likes her books.

I thought the artwork in this poster was nicely done. The proportions of the characters looks right, and I like the background. The only thing I see wrong with it is that the illustrator forgot that water refracts light. I’m not sure what series this is from though, so if you can identify it, thanks in advance.

If you haven’t seen Ookami Kakushi, this poster is supposed to be from the scene where Nemuru was tied up to prevent her from attacking the main guy (I forgot his name). I don’t know why they drew the knife right at her feet, but otherwise I like the dark atmosphere that this poster has.

This poster is similar to the one of Nemuru, but I don’t really like it as much. It isn’t as detailed as the previous one and the reddish tint makes it look a bit weird to me.

I remember doing an exercise like this in school, except we didn’t lift each other off the ground that high.

I’m not too fond of the moe-blob look anymore so I didn’t particularly like this poster, but it is decent.

I was impressed with this poster. You don’t usually see Nyantype come out with something this detailed, and as far as I can tell there isn’t any major flaws with it. The poster feels like an explosion of rainbowy gumdrops, but I’m assuming that’s what Pretty Cure is like.

Apparently there’s some kind of game where you pull a girl’s sash and maker her spin around. I think that’s what Kuroko is trying to do here, but she’d better be ready for a shock.

The characters in Hanamaru Kindergarten are cute, but the teacher looks so out of place here.

If any of you have read the yuri manga “Girlfriends”, you’ll probably know what I thought when I saw this poster. While it is a poster of Miyako and Yuno from Hidamari Sketch, they bear a striking resemblance to Akko and Mari from Girlfriends. It’s not only their hairstyles, but also their style of clothing and who’s on top.

A bit of Nyantype’s problem with distorted body parts is starting to show in this Ikki Tousen poster. While no limbs look like they’re broken, some of them seem to be at some rather uncomfortable angles.

Can’t say I liked Chu-Bra, but using lace patterns in the background here was a nice touch.

This Kissxsis poster seems to have less of a problem with distorted limbs. I knew the show was about a guy with a sister complex (or was it the other way around?), but there seems to be a lot of sister on sister posters in both Nyantype and Megami.

So in case you were wondering what that image in the corner of the cover was, here it is. For lack of a better word, I’m just going to call it a doll. You get this blank plastic doll  which you can stick stickers on to make into your favourite K-ON band member. The only problem is that you only get one of these dolls and there are 5 members. While you could use both sides of the doll, that still leaves out 3 of the girls. Nyantype really should have included more of these with their magazine.

I thought the back cover had an interesting illustration. It looks like parts of the page were ripped out to reveal part of an image underneath, but it’s really just one unripped page.

The quality of images used in Nyantype’s posters seems to be getting better, but they’re still not quite at the same level as Megami. It’s still nice to have them available though.
