My Order Has Been Cancelled!?
I just checked my email and found two emails from Otacute. The most recent one said my order had been cancelled. Wondering which of my orders it was refering to, I go back to my inbox and find an earlier email. This one said that there was a change in the reservation deadline and Otacute was not able to get the products in time. So what was this product that I ordered from Otacute, you ask?
That’s right, it’s Wave’s Aisaka Taiga China Dress figure. She’s an exclusive figure from dengikionline and preorders for her have been “out of stock” for months. This was the figure I was most looking forward to this year and now I’ll probably never get it. Words cannot describe how enraged I am right now. If I weren’t at work at this moment, I’d be smashing stuff to calm down.
Did anyone else order this figure through Otacute? Has your order been cancelled?

Wow, sorry to hear about the news. That really sucks! I ordered mine from Nihonju, got the last one too. Except I had to pay right away, unlike the other preorders. That’s pretty irresponsible of them, and they should of gotten to you sooner.
1I had that happen, as did several other people. Check her page to see.
2That really sucks, sorry to hear about it. I’ve had it happen through Otacute before. I ordered Reimu Hakurei Figma through them but I wasn’t quick enough and they e-mailed me telling me they had to cancel. Ended up having to buy it from someone off myfigurecollection.net :x
3Yep, mine got cancelled as well. It seems they had to cancel all pre-orders.
4And I really feel the same. I was at work too when I got and read the email so I couldn’t make some noice eventhough I really wanted. I was looking forward to get her too ;____; Damn you Otacute, why couldn’t you place the orders on dengikionline in time?!!
That’s a shame. She’s a very elegant and pretty figure. Maybe you can get her at a different place. Good luck. ^ ^
5That sucks, I actually gave up on this figure because of the exclusiveness. It seems thought Dengiki might be partly to blame for this as well from what I read.
6i never bothered with exclusives.. there is one i really wanted but i didnt want to be bothered with was.. the Asuka Loppi one: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v507/wcloudx/figure4/item_02.jpg
lol its just cause her boobies are kinda well made and realistic.
7Otacute really need to get its act together =.=
8@kiyoura:
I had a choice between Nihonju and Otacute, but I went with Otacute because it was cheaper. Now I regret making that decision.
@Celtic Guardian 7:
Those people must be very upset.
@Persocom:
Hopefully I can find someone selling it like you did. I haven’t been active on myfigurecollection recently so I guess I’ll go check it out later.
@escape_rope:
I feel your pain.
@Yi:
Hopefully I can, but it looks like she’s sold out everywhere.
@Miette-chan:
True, Dengeki did change the reservation time, but Otacute should’ve kept tabs on it like the other stores selling this figure.
@alucard13mm:
This was actually going to be my first exclusive figure, but not anymore :(
@Enko:
9I know, this is the first time that I’ve used Otacute and this is what happens.
I was reading about this on figure.fm. Seems to have happened to a load of people.
I’ve never used Otacute, any rares I’ve picked up have been through Toylet or eBay. Maybe you can find her through other channels, but I bet she’ll be super expensive :(. Shame since Taiga looks like a really nice figure :(.
10Whoa, that really sucks cuz that figure is really pretty. I hope you can get it from somewhere else. :)
11Urgh, damn, that sucks. She looks like a really pretty figure too!
I’ve never had this happen to me (yet), but I still feel your pain.
I hope you’ll be able to find her elsewhere.
12My condolences.
13@flyzice:
I’ve been looking, but I haven’t been able to find her.
@Ari:
I hope it doesn’t happen to you, it’s a really bad feeling knowing something you really want won’t be within your reach again.
@Valence:
14Thanks.
That’s too bad, sorry to hear that your order got canceled. That Taiga fig looks really nice.
I haven’t tried ordering from Otacute. I hope this won’t happen again to you or to other collectors. Good luck in finding Taiga.
15Lesson learned… this is why I recommend that all Otaku please AVOID OTACUTE!
Stay far away from OTACUTE ( http://www.otacute.com/ ). My colleagues & I discovered that OTACUTE and MILESTONE ( http://www.mile-stone.jp/info/en.html ) are the same company (even in the same building on the same floor!) In fact, “Otacute” is just the name of Milestone’s second website! Otacute is NOT EVEN a company, it does NOT exist. “Otacute” is just a couple employees at Milestone who run a web store that sells small quantity (i.e. higher prices) while the official MILESTONE company site sells wholesale (i.e. lower pries). That means Milestone sells goods to overseas store managers while Otacute secretly sells the same goods at a higher price to the customers of overseas store managers! Anyway, if you MUST get something from “Otacute”, just buy your things from the Milestone web site because those prices are cheaper. Otacute is a rip-off because it is just a Milestone web site with higher prices. More than anything, I recommend that you don’t mess with Milestone nor Otacute because their business practices are extremely unprofessional and abstruse.
If desired, I can provide conclusive evidence of Otacute/Milestone’s shady behavior. Anyway, here is something to think about.
(1) Why can’t you find any names on the Otacute web site? What about phone number? Contact information? Who is the CEO? The address on the web site is not even full.
(2) Why do “Otacute” and Milestone have the EXACT SAME INVENTORY?
(3) If you ever tried to to place an extra large quantity order from “Otacute”, then someone named “Yuhei” probably referred you to their wholesaler “friend” at Milestone.
(4) Call the phone number listed on Milestone’s website. Ask to speak with someone from the “Otacute team” (make sure to ask for them by their name found in the signature of their e-mails). Surprise.
Buyer Beware.
16@I Object:
17Wow, I didn’t know Otacute was just a branch of a wholesale anime merchindise store. That reminds me of something my boss once told me: “It’s bad business to compete with your customers.”
Reading your post right now, I can feel how disappointed you were because of the cancellation that happened. Just take it easy, you’ll surely get the perfect timing to own that item.

@Cole Stan:
19I hope so, I really want it.
I had a preorder through ToysLogic cancelled that I’d been waiting on for over half a year. Not only did they not have the courtesy to give an explanation, they didn’t even bother to tell me–they just quietly refunded the money, apparently hoping I wouldn’t notice. I’ll never go near them again (though I’ll still use their site to find stuff to buy elsewhere).
Not that there’s any reason to, since their prices are a joke–it’s cheaper to just use a deputy.
Note that if you want it badly enough, you’ll probably be able to find it on eBay or YJP. You’ll pay more, of course, but often it’s bearable. Don’t worry about the “luckystar0012″ listings on eBay, by the way–that guy lists everything at 2-3x the price everyone else does. If it does show up on eBay, it’ll probably be for much less than his comic $400 listing. 50% markup over retail price is more typical.
20@petopeto:
I’ll probably check out YJP once the figure comes out, but I’m still upset that I’ll have to pay a lot more for it now.
Thanks for the tips.
