I finally found some time to watch the last ep of Nogizaka Haruka. This episode continues off of ep 11, which saw Yuuto whisked away on a supersonic jet to a private island that the Nogizaka’s just bought for Haruka’s 17th birthday. Man, I wish I had enough money to buy my own island. Anyways, there wasn’t as much fanservice in this episode as the previous one since they needed to conclude the series. (more…)
Well, I just finished watching ep 15 of Penguin Musume. This episode involved Etorofu hijacking the Nankyoku time machine and going back in time to get rid of an embarrasing event. Of course, with any show that involves time travel there are unwanted consequences. At the end of the episode it appears that Pen-chan (Sakura) is no longer the main character and the anime is now called Shirokuma-ojousama Heart. I guess this is how Shirokuma gets her fortune/company back after going into bankruptcy.
So, after watching this ep, I started to wonder what I would do if I could go back in time to change something. If someone gave me a time machine right now, I would travel back a few years and tell the producers of Code Geass R2 to change the ending ^.^
(spoilers below for anyone that hasn’t seen the ending to Code Geass) (more…)
I finally got my copy of Megami Magazine Volume 101 earlier this week. The packaging has “Do Not Bend” in big black letters so someone tried to bend it in half; I really hate people like that. One thing about Megami Magazine is that they have what look like fan-made manga inserted between some pages that only stick out halfway from the spine. So when the magazine was bent, all of the regular pages ended up getting these little folds where the manga pages ended. Fortunately the folds weren’t too deep so I was able to straighten out the poster pages. Well, that’s enough rambling about the postal service. I took pictures of all the posters this time, and here they are: (more…)
I haven’t posted anything these past couple of days mostly because I was busy playing Disgaea for the DS ^.^
The game is still just as fun as I remember it for the PS2. They also kept in the voices for most of the “cutscenes” if you can call them that. I guess they had to cut out some audio for the less important parts of the story to keep the game small enough to work on the DS. Right now I’m in chapter 4 of my first run through the story and my characters are around level 25. They’re still too weak to go up against the Dark Assembly, but I’m leveling them up in the item world and getting a bunch of HL in the process :)
The only downside I’ve seen so far with the DS version is that some of the more flashy attacks seem a bit slower than in the PS2 version. “Nightsever” is one of those attacks that seem slower, and it sucks since I use it so much. Other than that, everything else like geo panels and throwing seem to work the same as before. I took a little video of one of the chains I made with geo panels in the item world. Unfortunately, I messed up the position of the second-last geo symbol and didn’t clear off all of the panels.
Well, since I decided not to get the Pixie Hiyori figure by Good Smile Company, to make up for it I decided to get a Melissa Seraphy Nendoroid. As you can see, she also carries around a cute little pumpkin. I think it’s the perfect figure to get since Halloween is just several weeks away. (more…)
Those of you who are really into figures will probably have already seen this 1/8 scale figure of Hiyori Pixie from Chu X Chu Idol by Good Smile Company. She has a retail price of 7200 yen which is roughly ~$70CDN and will be released in January. When I saw this figure the first thing I thought was “I want one”, but then I decided to reconsider. Yes, she looks cute, and yes, there’s a pumpkin on her head, which makes her even more awesome, but there’s something stopping me from buying her. (more…)
Last week I ordered Megami Magazine Vol. 100 before they were sold out and I finally got it in the mail today. Unfortunately, the magazine came in a thin cardboard envelope without any bubble wrap so the corners were dented a bit.
This is the first anime magazine I’ve ever bought, but I’ve heard a lot of good things about Megami Magazine and I certainly wasn’t disappointed with the content. There were a lot of posters that you can look at; I took some pics of my favourite ones: (more…)
I don’t know if it’s just me or if this happens to other people, but for some reason I tend to get a lot of calls from strangers who have misdialed a phone number. This year I’ve gotten calls from people looking for Tom, Daniel, Rob, Ben, John (x3), Ryan, and their mom. The call looking for their mom was understandable since it was just a kid, but people should really learn how to punch in some numbers on a phone. (more…)
Today is Tuesday September 16, and that means that there’s only 1 more week until Disgaea is finally released on the DS in North America (September 23). I first played Disgaea a few years back on the PS2 and it quickly became one of my favourite games. Not only was the plot actually funny, but the characters were soooo cute (I guess I’m a sucker for anime-like characters with huge eyes and rounded faces). What I’m looking forward to in this release is being able to use Pleinair, who was originally a non-playable character ^.^ (more…)
I got some new wireless headphones last week to use when I’m working late at night and don’t want to disturb anyone with my music. As you can see from the above pic these are Sony headphones; I bought them from Bestbuy and the model is MDRRF925RK. They use radio frequencies rather than bluetooth so there’s a little bit of static, but I can only hear it when I don’t have any music playing or it’s turned down extremely low. I tried walking around the house with these headphones on and there were only 2 spots where I didn’t get a signal (most likely interference from other electronics). (more…)
